Moments earlier, Stewart knocked Trump for focusing on the city amid an \u201corgy of mass shootings<\/a>\u201d over the weekend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He turned to Trump\u2019s \u201ctelling\u201d response to Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek, who tried to explain to the president over the phone that Portland wasn\u2019t in a \u201cstate of war.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI said, \u2018Well, wait a minute, am I watching things on television that are different from what\u2019s happening?\u2019\u201d Trump reportedly said on the call.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Stewart scolded the president for acting \u201crashly\u201d instead of trying to determine what the reality was on the ground in Portland.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cHe goes, \u2018Code Red, Red Team Go!\u2019 because he sees it on fucking TV and acts impulsively. He sends out the National Guard the same way you or I might make a late night ShamWow! purchase,\u201d he joked alongside a screengrab from the iconic 2000s infomercial<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
