Late-night talk show pals Jimmy Kimmel <\/a>and Stephen Colbert<\/a> guest-starred on each other\u2019s shows Tuesday night to vent about their respective programs being pulled from TV. <\/p>\n The \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d host, whose coveted late-night show was briefly yanked off air by ABC<\/a> on Sept. 17 following his controversial comments about conservative activist Charlie Kirk<\/a>, recounted learning about his suspension while sitting in the bathroom on a call with network executives.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m in my office, typing away, as I usually do, I get a call. It\u2019s ABC, and they say they want to talk to me. This is unusual,\u201d Kimmel, 57, said while appearing on \u201cThe Late Show With Stephen Colbert.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI have like five people who work in my office with me. So the only private place to go is the bathroom. So I go into the bathroom and I\u2019m on the phone with the ABC executives, and they say, Listen, we want to turn the temperature down,\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re concerned about what you\u2019re going to say tonight, and we decided that the best route is to take the show off the air,\u201d he said, prompting scores of boos from the audience.<\/p>\n
