Frank Pallone (D-NJ) in Washington, D.C., as part of his work with the nonprofit organization\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iamals.org\/\">I AM ALS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dane was joined by members of the organization, as well as several staffers, at the talks, which saw him open up about his own experience with <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/04\/10\/entertainment\/eric-dane-reveals-he-has-been-diagnosed-with-als\/\">amyotrophic lateral sclerosis<\/a>\u00a0(ALS) following his diagnosis in April.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Eric Dane has vowed to \u201cfight to the last breath\u201d amid his battle with ALS. <span class=\"credit\">iamalsorg\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The \u201cEuphoria\u201d actor, 52, opened up about his health diagnosis during a meeting with US Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo often, it takes all this time for these people to be diagnosed, well, then it precludes them from being a part of these clinical trials.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"50\" src=\"https:\/\/embeds.nypost.com\/protected-iframe\/ae07a3726bec0fc91a840dddea9d294c\" scrolling=\"auto\" frameborder=\"0\" class=\"\" allow=\"camera; fullscreen;\"><br \/>\n\t<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s why ACT for ALS is so so great, and it\u2019s because it broadens the access for everybody,\u201d the actor added.<\/p>\n<p>ALS is a rare degenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord along with causing progressive loss of muscle control. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler\"\/>\n<p>The disease has long been nicknamed Lou Gehrig\u2019s disease after the iconic baseball player who had the condition in the 1930s.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_14-0\">The actor, who shares daughters\u00a0Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13, with <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/27\/entertainment\/eric-danes-wife-rebecca-gayheart-calls-his-als-diagnosis-heartbreaking-my-girls-are-really-suffering\/\">his wife of 21 years, Rebecca Gayheart<\/a>,\u00a0also shared his hopes for the future.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_16-0\">\u201cI have two daughters at home,\u201d he said. \u201cI want to see them, you know, graduate college, and get married and maybe have grandkids. You know, I want to be there for all that.
