The Princess Royal met Volodymyr Zelensky during a visit to Ukraine.<\/p>\n
During her trip, which took place at the request of the Foreign Office, the Princess highlighted the \u201ctraumatic experiences\u201d of children living on the front line of the conflict, and spoke to the Ukrainian president about the UK\u2019s ongoing support for Ukraine.<\/p>\n
The 75-year-old is the third senior member of the Royal family to visit the country since Russia invaded more than three years ago.<\/p>\n
The Princess made the visit to Kyiv on Tuesday to \u201cdemonstrate solidarity\u201d with Ukrainian children and families affected by the conflict.<\/p>\n
She shook hands with Mr Zelensky, who told her, \u201cYou\u2019re very welcome,\u201d to which the Princess replied: \u201cYou\u2019re very kind. I don\u2019t know how you have time to spare but there you go.\u201d<\/p>\n
The pair discussed the UK\u2019s support for Ukraine and the country\u2019s ongoing resistance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
