Jason Statham\u2019s The Beekeeper 2<\/strong> has received a major casting <\/strong>update amid its filming. The movie is a sequel to The Beekeeper, which was released in theaters in January 2024. Directed by David Ayer, The Beekeeper went on to make around $162 million worldwide and received critical acclaim. The second movie was announced in February 2025.<\/p>\n The original cast members of The Beekeeper, Jemma Redgrave, Bobby Naderi, and Emmy Raver-Lampman, are coming back together for the second part alongside Jason Statham, as per Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n Additionally, a new cast member, Yara Shahidi, was recently announced. Jeremy Irons is also returning for the sequel. While the movie is currently being shot, its plot is being kept under wraps. Director Timo Tjahjanto revealed the new logo<\/a> of The Beekeeper 2 in a recent Instagram post.<\/p>\n Previously, Tjahjanto shared that he wanted to make Statham\u2019s character, Adam Clay, from the movie, his own version of Punisher. While speaking to Screen Rant<\/a> in August, the director said, \u201cI\u2019m definitely drawn to the Beekeeper series just because when I watched it, I always felt that, \u2018Wow, this is essentially Statham playing one of my favorite characters in the Marvel universe, which is The Punisher.’\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIf I can\u2019t make The Punisher film, then I\u2019ll turn Adam Clay into my own version of The Punisher,\u201d he continued. \u201cI think Statham has that quality in him. He has that very stoic Frank Castle-esque quality to him.\u201d<\/p>\n In his interview with MovieWeb<\/a> in the same month, Tjahjanto gave a hint regarding what could happen in the sequel and conveyed, \u201cI can\u2019t wait, to be honest, because, you know, Beekeeper is obviously one of those movies where it sort of walked the fine line.\u201d<\/p>\n The filmmaker further shared, \u201cI love this absurdist world of Beekeeper and secret agents and all that stuff, you know?
