Lou Koller, the frontman for Sick Of It All, returned to social media this week to make a heartbreaking announcement.<\/p>\n
After announcing in May that he had beaten esophageal cancer, shared a video update on Instagram in which he announced the disease has returned.<\/p>\n
\u201cHey everybody what\u2019s up, it\u2019s Lou here,\u201d Koller said in the video. \u201cI don\u2019t know if you can tell with my new skeletal look that I have going on. Here\u2019s an update for you. It\u2019s not one I want to make, but unfortunately the cancer has come back, and he brought some friends with him. <\/p>\n
\u201cI was having a really hard time with my recovery,\u201d he continued. \u201cI was having a tough time gaining weight and keeping food down so I had some scans done and sure enough it\u2019s back. But we are going to take it day-by-day and see what happens. I want to thank you all again for your support and the way you all reach out to me is \u2026 thank you very much. I\u2019ll keep you updated and let you know how it goes, alright? See you soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
It\u2019s awful news, especially so close to Koller\u2019s May announcement that he was cancer free.<\/p>\n
\u201cGot some good news for everyone. Got the test results back. The scan results I mean. Turns out, looks like there\u2019s nothing left. No more cancer. So, I\u2019m officially cancer free right now,\u201d he said back then. \u201cThank God for that, and thank you all for your positive vibes, your well-wishes. Thank you so much for all of your support, and I\u2019m really happy about this and I can try to get on to getting myself back to normal with this chicken neck and all this stuff. Thank you. That\u2019s all I can say. I\u2019m really happy. I still have to go for a new scan every six months for the next couple years to make sure it\u2019s still out of me, but as of now I\u2019m cancer free. <\/p>\n

Koller first announced he was battling the disease last June.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs you may or may not know, we had to cancel our full European tour this summer,\u201d he said back then. \u201cThere\u2019s some rumors going around as to why, and we are here to set the record straight, but we wanted to wait until we got all the information before making an announcement.\u201d<\/p>\n
That is when he got right to what he was dealing with.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe reason that it is cancelled is because they found a tumor in my esophagus that goes into my stomach, and I\u2019ll have to be getting treatment all summer,\u201d he said. \u201cOf course, I had full support of the band. As soon as they heard it, they were like forget the tour. <\/p>\n
