It\u2019s TikTok Night in the ballroom, which was no doubt inspired by the presence of two celebrities from The Secret Lives of Morman Wives who happen to have a huge following on the platform. (Then again, so does Robert Irwin with his animal videos and Alix Earle with her \u201cget ready with me\u201d vertical confections). How this theme truly celebrates a legacy program on broadcast TV is beyond me, but let\u2019s embrace this two-hour commercial for TikTok, shall we? <\/p>\n

\n\tSpeaking of those Mormon TikTokers, are they inspiring more fans to check out the ballroom? Quite possibly; votes for last week\u2019s double elimination \u201cshattered the all time voting record\u201d for DWTS, said host Alfonso Ribeiro. This is the kind of news ABC can use. <\/p>\n

\n\t Bring on those viral TikTok songs!<\/p>\n

\n\tComedian Andy Richter with partner Emma Slater.<\/strong>\u00a0Richter thought he was a goner last week but I\u2019m truly glad he lasted another day. So is he! \u201cIt\u2019s like a giant valentine dropped from the sky,\u201d he said during his rehearsal package. Richter\u2019s conservative foxtrot to \u201cNorthern Attitude\u201d didn\u2019t offer much but there was a really sweet moment when he guided the camera to follow him around the dance floor. \u201cLove is in the air, and it\u2019s all because of you,\u201d said Bruno Tonioli. \u201cYou have such natural charm and it\u2019s so difficult to resist you. Tonight you put much more content in the routine. Don\u2019t get carried away. It still needs a lot of work.\u201d SCORE:\u00a0<\/strong>18 out of 30.<\/p>\n

\n\tFifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui with Brandon Armstrong<\/strong>. Armstrong worried that any kind of hip work would seem \u201cforeign\u201d to Jauregui, but the singer embraced the chance to cha cha to her tune \u201cWork from Home.\u201d Jauregui\u2019s got great stage presence but Inaba was guarded in her critique. \u201cI really like the way you move,\u201d said Carrie Ann Inaba. \u201cYou are very in tune with your body. I want to see more pop in your step. I think you have it in you. I want more of the life force to come out of you.\u201d Wha? SCORE:<\/strong>\u00a018 out of 30<\/p>\n

\n\tJen Affleck (The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives) with Jan Ravnik<\/strong>. The Mormon wife inexplicably opened up her cha cha by donning a faux pregnant belly before quickly disrobing to show off her ballroom-friendly fringe. Hoofing it to \u201cShe\u2019s a Bad Mama Jama,\u201d Affleck is skilled at playing to the crowd. \u201cMamma Mia, that was an easy delivery, wasn\u2019t it? I\u2019ve never quite seen anything like it,\u201d said Tonioli. \u201cThe cha cha cha has to be better placed in the foot to get the correct action.\u201d SCORE:\u00a0<\/strong>19 out of 30<\/p>\n

\n\tDanielle Fishel (Boy Meets World) with Pasha Pashkov.<\/strong>\u00a0Fishel rehearsed with her right thigh in a brace \u2014 dang hamstring \u2014 but her foxtrot to \u201cManchild\u201d was a real beauty. \u201cYou are just so pleasant and refreshing,\u201d said Derek Hough. The control in the foxtrot and the fundamentals, I appreciate that dearly.\u201d SCORE:<\/strong>\u00a021 out of 30<\/p>\n

\n\tElaine Hendrix with Alan Bersten.\u00a0<\/strong>Hendrix channeled her hateful character Meredith Blake from The Parent Trap into her delightfully frisky tango to \u201cGnarly.\u201d Inaba thought the actress danced a little too \u201cindependently\u201d but the men raved over Hendrix, who told viewers that she\u2019s 54 so be impressed! \u201cElaine, you are bad ass,\u201d said Hough. \u201cYou are such a performer. When you come out here, you ignite that floorwith so much charisma. Focus on a wider frame.\u201d SCORE:<\/strong>\u00a021 out of 30<\/p>\n

\n\tPentatonix singer Scott Hoying with Rylee Arnold.<\/strong>\u00a0The duo tried to apply Inaba\u2019s absurd comment last week \u2014 \u201ctake up more space\u201d \u2014 to their jazz dance. It worked; Hoying was fabulous with his club-style freeform \u2014 er, I mean jazz. \u201cYou just won the floor,\u201d said Inaba. \u201cYou are the king of TikTok night. You are in your element.\u201d SCORE:<\/strong>\u00a022 out of 30<\/p>\n

\n\tAuthor and influencer Hilaria Baldwin and Gleb Savchenko<\/strong>. Baldwin is that quintessential DWTS contestant who looks exquisite in every last costume. Her samba wasn\u2019t too shabby, either. Hough was particularly impressed by her rolls \u2014 and I\u2019m not talking about her FUPA (or lack thereof). Inaba even said that the late Len Goodman would have loved the performance. \u201cTechnically you are in a league of your own. It was vibrant. The samba rolls were some of the most beautiful. Honestly, great job.\u201d SCORE:\u00a0<\/strong> 22 out of 39<\/p>\n

\n\tWildlife conservationist Robert Irwin with Witney Carson.\u00a0<\/strong>The frontrunner dropped the family-friendly persona and went full-on sexpot with his shirtless salsa. Hough thought his performance was stiff and rigid, though, and lacked fluidity. \u201cRobert Irwin is all grown up. You are making me feel like a grandmother. Put your shirt back on!\u201d said Inaba. \u201cYou are really great performer. I\u2019m going to leave it there.\u201d Good call, Carrie Ann. SCORE:\u00a0<\/strong>22 out of 30<\/p>\n

\n\tReality TV star Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach.<\/strong>\u00a0Efron\u2019s foxtrot to Justin Bieber\u2019s \u201cYukon\u201d wasn\u2019t anything special but the judges were impressed by his \u201csmoldering\u201d leading man qualities. \u201cI am torn. You are of the beginner group but you are really learning the technique and that will be the key to winning this season,\u201d said Inaba. \u201cYou are an amazing student and that was really elegant.\u201d SCORE:\u00a0<\/strong>23 out of 30<\/p>\n

\n\tSocial media personality Alix Earle with Val Chmerkovskiy.<\/strong>\u00a0The duo\u2019s chipper quickstep to \u201cPop Muzik\u201d ended the show and left the judges in awe. Inaba called it her best dance so far. \u201cThe way you glide across the floor effortlessly, it felt fresh \u2026 it felt fun,\u201d said Hough. SCORE:\u00a0<\/strong>23 out of 30<\/p>\n

\n\tOlympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles with Ezra Sosa.\u00a0<\/strong>Sosa did a superb job adapting their technically precise tango to \u201cAnxiety.\u201d Chiles choked up at the end and told Ribeiro it was challenging but she was clearly proud of her performance. \u201cDon\u2019t cry. Your improvement has been astonishing,\u201d said Tonioli. \u201cClean, clear, powerful, focused. Your best dance yet, darling.\u201d SCORE<\/strong>: 24 out of 30<\/p>\n

\n\tWhitney Leavitt (The Secret Lives of Morman Wives) with Mark Ballas<\/strong>. First of all, Ballas should be tasked with choreographing every last samba on DWTS. He did an exemplary job of teaching Leavitt how to properly bounce, jiggle and swivel to \u201cShake Ya Ass.\u201d There was one distraction during the number when the director made their performance look like a TikTok video, complete with a stream of annoying comments to the left of Leavitt\u2019s tush. But the judges were nonetheless wowed with her progress. \u201cWe want to see that elusive bounce which is a continuous movement,\u201d said Tonioli. \u201cIt\u2019s so hard to get. You got it.\u201d SCORE:<\/strong>\u00a024 out of 30<\/p>\n
