October 1 marks the 22nd anniversary of Kelly Monaco\u2019s General Hospital<\/em> debut as Sam McCall. And it should be an occasion for celebrating. Except that right around this time in 2024, fans were left reeling from the news that she\u2019d been let go<\/a> by the soap that had courted her following the cancellation of its spinoff, Port Charles<\/em><\/a> (where she\u2019d played vampish Livvie Locke).<\/p>\n The reason that Monaco was axed remains shrouded in mystery. She herself has said that \u201cw<\/span>hen Billy Miller was fired [as Drew in 2019], Sam\u2019s storyline stopped<\/a>. Stripping Sam of every characteristic she had.
