For the turntable-and-stylus set, two vinyl LPs celebrating Texas music are ready to spin.<\/p>\n

KXT-FM (91.7), a key hub for North Texas music since 2009, is issuing Homegrown Bites, Vol. II,<\/i> an orange-and-white vinyl compilation of 12 local acts, including Abraham Alexander<\/a>, Frankie Leonie, Brave Combo, Midlake and the Vandoliers<\/a>. First pressed in 2023, Texas Wild<\/i> rounded up 11 Texas artists covering other Lone Star State acts, like the Toadies\u2019 raw remake of Kelly Clarkson\u2019s \u201cSince U Been Gone.\u201d The new vinyl edition adds Zella Day, of the Austin trio Chaparelle<\/a>, singing a suitably trippy version of the 13th Floor Elevators\u2019 1966 classic \u201cYou\u2019re Gonna Miss Me.\u201d Meanwhile, Ruthie Foster teams up with the Dallas-based Texas Gentlemen for an Al Green-ish remake of \u201cPretty Woman\u201d by the pride of Wink, Texas, Roy Orbison. The new digital version of Texas Wild<\/i> includes Austin\u2019s Max Frost tackling Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s \u201cIrreplaceable\u201d and Longview native Jonathan Terrell swaggering through George Strait\u2019s \u201cAll My Exes Live in Texas.\u201d<\/p>\n

She\u2019ll talk about design and music and Terrell will perform songs at a free Texas Live<\/i> event from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 7 at Birdie\u2019s Social Club, 2737 W. Fifth St., Fort Worth. <\/b>Proceeds from the album sales benefit the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation.<\/p>\n
