Little is known about James Gunn\u2019s Man of Tomorrow<\/strong><\/a>, but the director did recently address the rumors that he was teasing Brainiac appearing in the film as a big villain.<\/p>\n Speaking to Entertainment Weekly recently, Gunn was asked about the rumors that Brainiac would be the main villain of the Superman sequel. Last week, Gunn shared an image of Man of Tomorrow\u2019s script<\/a>, which featured a diagram of a brain on it.<\/p>\n This quickly led to fans theorizing that the iconic Superman villain Brainiac would be a major part of the film. While Gunn didn\u2019t confirm anything about the movie, he said he was definitely aware of what would happen by sharing the image.<\/p>\n \u201cListen, of course I wasn\u2019t unaware that when I posted the cover of the script that there was going to be discussion around that particular topic,\u201d Gunn said<\/a>. \u201cBut I think we\u2019ll hold off from what exactly is happening.\u201d<\/p>\n As the second most well-known\u00a0Superman<\/a>\u00a0villain after Lex Luthor, Brainiac has been rumored to be the main villain of Man of Tomorrow for a while now. After one fan on X theorized that Iwuji could be playing Brainiac, another\u00a0X<\/a>\u00a0user backed up this casting possibility by sharing that Gunn did state on the official Peacemaker podcast that he wasn\u2019t making Murn\u2019s physical appearance canon to the DCU so that he could cast Iwuji as a different character, possibly one that doesn\u2019t look human.<\/p>\n Man of Tomorrow will once again be directed by Gunn, based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. It will feature the return of\u00a0David Corenswet<\/a>\u00a0as Superman\/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.<\/p>\n At the moment, it\u2019s still unclear which cast members from the first installment will also be returning for the sequel. Following the project\u2019s official announcement, rumors started circulating online about its potential cast members and plot.
