The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives <\/em>star\u00a0Jessi Ngatikaura is opening up about the namesake of her hair care and extension line JZ Styles \u2014 and it might surprise you<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, she says the name came in part from her ex-husband and also to pay homage to one of her favorite singers<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Ngatikaura made the admission at the LadyWorld retreat, which offered attendees a unique destination where they could experience their favorite creators, performers and personalities<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives <\/em>star\u00a0Jessi Ngatikaura<\/a> is opening up about the unlikely inspiration for the name of her hair line, JZ Styles, which shares a surname with one Harry Styles<\/a>.<\/p>\n Speaking to PEOPLE in an exclusive interview at the destination retreat LadyWorld<\/a> in Miramar Beach on Saturday, Sept. 27, 33-year-old Ngatikaura explains that she founded her company \u2014 which produces haircare products, hot tools, and extensions \u2014 while she was married to her ex-husband.<\/p>\n \u201cAt first it was [named for] me and my ex-husband because his name was Zach and I\u2019m Jessi,” she said at the festival, which offered attendees a unique destination where they could experience their favorite creators, performers and personalities. “So when I was married to him is when I started JZ, so when we got divorced, I was like, \u2018This sucks.\u2019\u00a0So then I named my son Jagger Zayn, so now it\u2019s [named] for him. The two\u00a0welcomed their first child together<\/a>, son Jagger Zayn, on April 20, 2020.<\/p>\n On Jan. 13, 2023, Jessi and Jordan’s youngest child, daughter Jovi, arrived. She later explained in a 2024\u00a0TikTok<\/a>\u00a0video that they chose the names because she “liked the theme of old rock and roll \u2014\u00a0Bon Jovi<\/a>,\u00a0Mick Jagger<\/a>. I just felt like they really went well together.\u201d<\/p>\n The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives<\/em> follows Ngatikaura and her fellow MomTok cast members Taylor Frankie Paul, Mayci Neeley,\u00a0Jen Affleck<\/a>, Mikayla Matthews, Miranda McWhorter, Layla Taylor and Whitney Leavitt and their lives in Utah.<\/p>\n And while Ngatikaura has in recent years become well known for her hair (she actually trademarked the phrase “Utah curls”), she was rocking the look long before the show debuted.<\/p>\n “I’ve been the Utah curl queen \u2014 just not publicly,” she says. “I’ve been doing it for nine years.”<\/p>\n
