Utah will set the stage for seven upcoming film productions \u2014 including the upcoming season<\/a> of ABC\u2019s \u201cThe Bachelorette.\u201d<\/p>\n The Utah Film Commission announced on Wednesday the Utah Board of Tourism Development approval of seven new productions for state film incentives \u2014 expanding Utah\u2019s extended list of upcoming productions and growing reputation as an entertainment hub.<\/p>\n Together, the seven upcoming productions are projected to generate an economic impact of $15.6 million and create more than 300 jobs for Utahns in Salt Lake, Summit, Utah, Washington, Wayne and Weber counties, according to the Utah Film Commission.<\/p>\n Among the approved productions is Season 22 of ABC\u2019s reality dating series, \u201cThe Bachelorette,\u201d which stars Utah influencer Taylor Frankie Paul.<\/p>\n Paul is known for her roles in #MomTok and \u201cThe Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.\u201d She is also the first leading woman in the franchise from Utah.<\/p>\n \u201cUtah offers a stunning and diverse natural backdrop that is perfect for this romantic reality series,\u201d Lex Pascual, vice president of production incentives at Warner Bros. Discovery, said in a statement.<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cBeyond the scenery, Utah\u2019s blend of small-town charm and modern amenities offer a fresh take on romance. The state is known for its friendly communities, strong family values, and a culture that emphasizes connection \u2014 traits that align well with the emotional journey and genuine relationships that \u2018The Bachelorette\u2019 aims to showcase.”<\/p>\n The team that produced Kevin Costner\u2019s Western epic, \u201cHorizon: An American Saga<\/a>,\u201d will return to Utah to film \u201cBlood on the Promontory,\u201d a Western that chronicles the escape of five convicts from Wyoming during the 1870s.<\/p>\n Two documentaries were also approved for filming in the Beehive State. \u201cMonsters & Aliens\u201d is a documentary series that will begin filming this fall in Salt Lake and Summit counties.<\/p>\n \u201cInto the Wilderness,\u201d a documentary feature, follows a group participating in a therapy program. Washington and Wayne counties will serve as the backdrop of the production.<\/p>\n \u201cUtah was the natural choice for a film about the power of nature to heal,\u201d said the film\u2019s producer Julian Cautherley. \u201cThe state\u2019s landscapes \u2014 golden aspen forests, rugged red rock cliffs, and canyon waterways \u2014 provide both a breathtaking backdrop and a living context for the story.\u201d<\/p>\n Cautherley continued, \u201cWe were able to work with an exceptional local crew, whose deep connection to Utah\u2019s environment elevated the project while supporting the state\u2019s creative economy.\u201d<\/p>\n Also among the upcoming productions are a new children\u2019s puppet series, \u201cLadybug\u2019s Garden,\u201d a pilot for a series with the working title \u201cJesus Sees Us,\u201d and an independent feature film, \u201cICONOCLAST.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI love filming in Utah. I personally feel it is truly one of the best places to film,\u201d said Steven Lee, line producer for \u201cICONOCLAST.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe landscapes are amazing, giving us everything from iconic red rock deserts to lush mountain backdrops,\u201d Lee added. \u201cThe real treasure is the local crew.
