His manner of death and cause of death are pending, the database says. Allen was 36. <\/p>\n<p> Police responded Tuesday around 1 a.m. to railroad tracks near the intersection of Millbrook Lane and Nuffield Lane, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.star-telegram.com\/news\/local\/fort-worth\/article312325727.html\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a>. Officers found Allen, who had been struck by a train, and took him to a nearby hospital where he died, police told the outlet. Police did not immediately respond to The Times\u2019 request for comment Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>Christina Price, who represented Allen, also confirmed his death, saying in a statement that \u201cwhat stood out most about Joshua was his heart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had a natural gift for movement \u2014 no formal training, yet he could watch something once and his body just knew how to do it,\u201d Price added.\u201dBeyond his talent, he gave back, teaching kids in Texas through dance workshops.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Allen\u2019s family member confirmed the entertainer\u2019s death to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2025\/10\/01\/so-you-think-you-can-dance-season-4-winner-joshua-allen-dead\/\" target=\"_blank\">TMZ<\/a>, which first broke the news. The family member did not disclose his cause of death and asked fans for \u201cprivacy and prayers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Texas-based dancer auditioned for \u201cSo You Think You Can Dance\u201d in 2008, impressing judges with his fluid movements, controlled popping and locking and springy leaps. Throughout the season, he proved his ability to take on a variety of dance styles ranging from contemporary to Bollywood. He remained a strong competitor, eventually besting fellow contestants for the grand prize. <\/p>\n<p>Allen notably bested Stephen \u201cTwitch\u201d Boss, who <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/tv\/story\/2022-12-14\/stephen-twitch-boss-dj-twitch-of-the-ellen-degeneres-show-dies-at-40\">died by suicide<\/a> in December 2022. Boss was 40. Allen mourned Boss on <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CmaPTFsBE7r\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram<\/a>, writing \u201cNO WORDS will ever be enough to explain the LOVE I have for you Stephen.\u201d At the time, he recalled connecting with Boss prior to their auditions and wrote, \u201cThis isn\u2019t goodbye more so I\u2019ll see you later.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Price, who also represented Boss, said his death \u201cweighed heavily on Allen\u201d and that \u201cit\u2019s heartbreaking to now be grieving Joshua as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After his \u201cSo You Think You Can Dance\u201d days, Allen\u2019s work included a McDonald\u2019s commercial, a role in the debut season of \u201cAmerican Horror Story\u201d and appearances in \u201cFreak Dance,\u201d \u201cStep Up 3D,\u201d and the 2011 \u201cFootloose\u201d remake, according to IMDb. He was also an instructor for several dance competitions. <\/p>\n<p>Allen faced legal troubles in summer 2016, when he was accused of attacking his girlfriend at a coffee shop. The Los Angeles County district attorney\u2019s office charged him with two felony counts of willfully injuring his girlfriend,  one felony assault with a deadly weapon and four misdemeanors related to battery, vandalism and violating a protective order, according to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2016\/07\/14\/so-you-think-you-can-dance-winner-attacks-girlfriend\/\" target=\"_blank\">TMZ<\/a>.
