DENVER (KDVR<\/a>) \u2014 A world-renowned DJ and producer is headlining a show at Mission Ballroom on Thursday to benefit local organizations that help immigrant youth.<\/p>\n The nonprofit Better Together Denver<\/a> partnered with Mission Ballroom<\/a> to host the show featuring Deorro<\/a>, a Mexican-American electronic dance music producer known by over 7.5 million Spotify<\/a> listeners for his EDM and Latin music blend. The show will also include support from other EDM acts, including Bolo, Close Friends Only and Levi Double U.<\/p>\n New 10,000-person venue in Denver debuts with 2 concerts this week <\/a><\/p>\n Mission Ballroom is well known in the EDM world for its sound system, as well as the massive LED disco ball, large dance floor, LED video wall and lighting system. According to the event organizers, the show will feature LED-driven \u201cimpact moments\u201d that are woven throughout the show.<\/p>\n Some of the proceeds from the show will go to support Convivir Colorado<\/a>, a leadership program which helps immigrant, refugee and first-generation youth in middle and high school to \u201cstrengthen their identity,\u201d as well as Juntos Community<\/a>, which helps immigrant youth and families navigating complex systems with clinics, legal aid and more.<\/p>\n \u201cMusic and art bring people together in ways nothing else can,\u201d said Rico Gomez, board member of Better Together Denver, in a press release. \u201cThis year\u2019s benefit concert continues the momentum of blending music with purpose, proving that civic engagement, supporting our communities, and a good time can and should coexist. It\u2019s about giving young adults new and diverse paths to shape Denver\u2019s future and have a voice. With Deorro\u2019s help, we\u2019re proving that civic life can be accessible, exciting, and part of the city\u2019s cultural life.\u201d<\/p>\n The organizations will be at the event to connect with people and share how they can get involved.
