KANSAS CITY, Mo. \u2013 Two more nights. That\u2019s how long until Missouri native Chappell Roan will be performing in Kansas City.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s performing Friday, October 3\u00a0and Saturday, October 4, just outside of the National World War I Museum and Memorial. Both shows<\/strong><\/a> are sold out.<\/p>\n

We do expect that the economic impact from this event will be about $13.8 million,\u201d Makenzie Wolters, the Communications Manager for Visit KC, shared with FOX4 on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cSupporting our local restaurants, our local businesses, our hotels.\u201d<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t be alarmed when all things pink, shiny and fringed take over Downtown Kansas City this weekend.<\/p>\n

Olathe resident, Erin Brown, was admiring the Chappell Roan mural<\/strong><\/a> in Midtown on Wednesday. She hopes to attend a show of Roan\u2019s this weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would love to go. I love her music,\u201d Brown shared.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer personality and her stage presence are all really great. I love her outfits and her music. It just represents so many different people and that really brings the city together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe might even have some showgirl Taylor Swift fans out celebrating as well with the new album coming out. Kansas City is fully embracing all of our pop divas this weekend,\u201d Wolters added.<\/p>\n

Traffic will likely be heavy and parking might be slim. Organizers urge you to plan ahead<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is pretty normal when we have big events like this going on, but we do know there is going to be limited parking in the area. There\u2019s no parking on the museum grounds because of the concert. Parking will also be limited around Crown Center because we have Oktoberfest,\u201d Wolters added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe downtown area, everywhere from here in Downtown Kansas City and the River Market all the way to the Crown Center, has over 40,000 parking spots.\u201d<\/p>\n

You\u2019re encouraged to hop on the KC Streetcar, a.k.a The Pink Pony Express<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe museum grounds are able to hold about 30,000 fans each night,\u201d Wolters added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are coming from Springfield. They are coming from Omaha. They are coming from Wichita to be able to see Chappell Roan this weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n

FOX4 asked police for comment on logistics and road closures for the weekend. The Kansas City Police Department sent us this statement:<\/p>\n

\u201cPublic safety is our top priority. For these large outdoor shows, the city of Kansas City, Missouri, the Kansas City Missouri Police Department, and event partners are using a layered plan. You will see a visible security presence of both private security and uniformed police officers, controlled entry points, and screening similar to other events. The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department will keep emergency access lanes open, manage crowd flow, and coordinate medical support and transportation; however, we will not be sharing staffing levels or tactical details. Attendees should arrive early, follow posted signage, and review the organizer\u2019s bag policy and prohibited items before they come. Updates will be provided through the organizer\u2019s communication plan that includes a specific Kansas City concert website and the artist\u2019s social media pages.<\/p>\n

Entry to the concert area requires a ticket. Sidewalks and nearby public spaces will remain open for normal use unless posted as closed. We will not allow crowds to gather outside the venue and sidewalks and streets must remain clear for travel. Expect fencing, barricades, and controlled zones. Some sound will carry outside the venue, but there will be no external viewing areas or speakers. Please follow posted signs and staff directions.<\/p>\n

Only streets directly surrounding the museum property will be closed beginning in the mornings. Those streets used for main thoroughfares, to include Main Street, will be closed intermittently to ensure safe pedestrian traffic at the end of the event.\u201d<\/p>\n
