Keep reading for these and more below.<\/p>\n<p>If you love the Halloween spirit, and spirits (i.e., alcohol), don\u2019t miss <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/a.drunkshakespeare.com\/houston\/\">Drunk Shakespeare Society<\/a>\u2019s latest boozy take on a classic, <em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/drunkdracula.com\/\">Drunk Dracula<\/a><\/em>, at <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/community.houstonpress.com\/location\/the-emerald-theatre-18884722\">The Emerald Theatre<\/a> on Thursday, October 2, at 7:30 p.m. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/jh.eazy\/?hl=en\">Joey Herrera<\/a>, who is playing the titular vampire in the adult-only show for the second time, recently told the <em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonpress.com\/\">Houston Press<\/a><\/em>, \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonpress.com\/arts\/get-bloodier-and-boozier-this-halloween-with-idrunk-dracula-i\/\">As Dracula, drunk or not, I like to lurk around the audience. And by the end, you won\u2019t know who\u2019s bit or not bit.<\/a>\u201d Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays, and October 28; 7 and 9 p.m. Fridays, with an additional 5 p.m. performance on October 31; 3, 5, 7, and 9 p.m. Saturdays; and 5 and 7 p.m. Sundays through November 15. Lewis to his home for a conversation? That scenario is exactly what Mark St. Germain imagined for his 2009 play, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thegeorge.vbotickets.com\/event\/Freuds_Last_Session\/151658\"><em>Freud\u2019s Last Session<\/em><\/a>, which <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adplayers.org\/\">A.D. Players<\/a> will open on Friday, October 3, at 7:30 p.m. Director Christy Watkins told <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadwayworld.com\/houston\/\">BroadwayWorld Houston<\/a> the play \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadwayworld.com\/houston\/article\/Interview-Christy-Watkins-of-FREUDS-LAST-SESSION-at-AD-Players-20250919\">models a respectful dialogue between two people with opposing viewpoints, where both individuals engage honestly and openly with one another, even in the face of profound disagreement. With the 1946 surrealist fantasy, called \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rogerebert.com\/reviews\/great-movie-beauty-and-the-beast-1946\">one of the most magical of all films<\/a>,\u201d Cocteau \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rogerebert.com\/reviews\/great-movie-beauty-and-the-beast-1946\">was not making a \u2018children\u2019s film\u2019 but was adapting a classic French tale that he felt had a special message after the suffering of World War II: Anyone who has an unhappy childhood may grow up to be a Beast.<\/a>\u201d The screening, co-presented with <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/\">Villa Albertine<\/a> in Houston, is free and open to all.<\/p>\n<p>Musician, vocalist, and composer <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aekerymusic.com\/\">Amanda Ekery<\/a> will visit <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/asiasociety.org\/texas\">Asia Society Texas<\/a> on Saturday, October 4, at 7:30 p.m. to play music from and talk about her latest album <em>\u00c1rabe<\/em>, \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.newschoolfreepress.com\/2024\/06\/08\/amanda-ekery-explores-culture-and-community-on-her-upcoming-album-arabe\/\">a jazz, folk, pop-infused album that serves as a tribute to Ekery\u2019s Syrian-Mexican roots and hometown of El Paso, Texas.<\/a>\u201d (An album that also comes with 60 pages of essays about each track on the album.) Of her music, Ekery has said, \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/jazztimes.com\/features\/profiles\/the-border-jazz-of-amanda-ekery\/\">I think you can hear the jazz influence in what I write, but jazz isn\u2019t all that influences me.
