{"id":2064249,"date":"2025-10-02T11:55:18","date_gmt":"2025-10-02T11:55:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2064249"},"modified":"2025-10-02T11:55:18","modified_gmt":"2025-10-02T11:55:18","slug":"everybody-loves-raymond-cast-reuniting-for-cbs-anniversary-special","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/everybody-loves-raymond-cast-reuniting-for-cbs-anniversary-special\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Everybody Loves Raymond\u2019 cast reuniting for CBS anniversary special"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div data-article-body=\"true\">\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">NEW YORK \u2014 Everybody loves a reunion \u2014 and the \u201cEverybody Loves Raymond\u201d team is giving the people what they want.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Ray Romano, who starred as sports journalist Ray Barone, and creator Phil Rosenthal will host \u201cEverybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion\u201d on Nov. 24 at 8 to 9:30 p.m. ET, to commemorate both the 29 years since the Long Island-set sitcom premiered on Sept. 13, 1996, and the two decades since the show took its final bow in May 2005.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cAudiences are invited back to the recreated Barone living room for an unforgettable evening with America\u2019s favorite family,\u201d reads CBS\u2019 press release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">There will be a \u201cmoving tribute\u201d to the late Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle, who starred as Ray and Robert\u2019s overbearing mother and sardonic father Marie and Frank \u2014 \u201cfan favorites and the emotional anchors of the series.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Brad Garrett and Patricia Heaton, who starred as Ray\u2019s brother Robert and Ray\u2019s wife Debra, will take part in the special\u2019s \u201ccandid conversations,\u201d as will Madylin and Sullivan Sweeten.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Sweetens played Ray and Debra\u2019s kids Ally and Michael, along with their late brother Sawyer, who played Michael\u2019s twin Geoffrey. Sawyer <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/tv\/sawyer-sweeten-dead-madilyn-maysa-sweeten-and-more-family-members-mourn-loss\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:died by suicide;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">died by suicide<\/a> in 2015 at age 19.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cRaymond\u201d earned <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.televisionacademy.com\/shows\/everybody-loves-raymond\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:69 Emmy nominations and 15 wins;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">69 Emmy nominations and 15 wins<\/a> \u2014 including twice taking home the award for outstanding comedy series \u2014 during its nine-season run.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Speaking to the Daily News in October 2020, Emmy winner Rosenthal ruled out a reboot or remake \u201cbecause we\u2019re missing key ingredients\u201d in the absences of Boyle and Roberts, who died in 2006 and 2016, respectively: \u201cThere is no show without them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThere\u2019s an old showbiz axiom, by the way: get off the stage before somebody says, \u2018Get off the stage.\u2019 And we did.
