\u201cSo You Think You Can Dance\u201d<\/a> winner Joshua Allen passed away earlier this week. He was 36.<\/p>\n A family member told TMZ<\/a> that he was hit by a train and died in the hospital near his Texas home on Tuesday, Sept. 30. The Fort Worth Police Department in Texas confirmed to the outlet that it received a call about a person who was hit by a train. The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n Allen\u2019s close friend and film director and choreographer, Emmanuel Hurd, described Allen as \u201ca very honest, real person\u201d to the outlet. He also paid tribute to Allen on Instagram.<\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t wrap my head around this\u2026Josh\u2026my brotha. There are no words. You were the life of the party,\u201c Hurd wrote in a post<\/a> on Tuesday. \u201dYou were Batman. Champion. One of the realest people I ever met. Kept it a stack every time and would make it right if you fell short. A real King. This one hurts deep. I know you\u2019re with Stephen now and that brings me comfort. I love you bro. IVEVER.”<\/p>\n For context, Hurd was referring to Stephen \u201ctWitch\u201d Boss, the late DJ and co-executive producer of \u201cThe Ellen DeGeneres Show,\u201d who died by suicide in 2022. <\/p>\n Allen rose to fame after winning Season 4 of \u201cSo You Think You Can Dance,\u201d beating out Boss, who came in second place.<\/p>\n In addition to winning the Fox dance competition series in 2008, he appeared as a dancer in \u201cStep Up 3D\u201d in 2010 and the remake of \u201cFootloose\u201d in 2011.
