Now, Kerr has opened up about visiting the set during filming, and his son\u2019s emotional reaction to seeing Johnson portray him.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mb-4 text-xl font-bold md:text-2xl\">What Did Mark Kerr Say About Being On The Smashing Machine Set As Dwayne Johnson Played Him?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">There are only a precious few people who will ever know what it\u2019s like to have a film made about them (especially since such things frequently happen after said subject is no longer with us), but now early MMA\/UFC fighter Mark Kerr is one of those people. He remembered:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"mb-4 border-l-2 pl-5 italic text-tertiary\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">So the first time I walked on set, we\u2019re in this arena [in Vancouver] and they\u2019re getting ready to do the introduction for the PRIDE Grand Prix. DJ is the last one to come in the ring. Nobody tells me he\u2019s getting prosthetics. Nobody tells me they\u2019re going to do this cauliflower ear. I\u2019m looking in the ring and DJ\u2019s walking up behind me, and I turn around. All I could do is cuss at him. All I could do is just literally look at him and go, \u2018Oh my God, dude. F&#8212; you.\u2019 It was this out-of-body experience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Lordy. It had to have been an immense shock to think he was going to turn around and see the man we all recognize as \u201cDJ,\u201d only to be met with a version of his own face from a couple of decades ago. He\u2019s almost like whispering on the phone, \u2018Dad, he\u2019s got your hand movements, and he\u2019s got your speech pattern, he even walks like you.
