His production company hired writers <strong>Steve Faber<\/strong> and <strong>Bob Fisher<\/strong> to pen the script.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Interning for a congressman while in college, Fisher would crash lobbyist events, recalling to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/mel-magazine\/the-oral-history-of-wedding-crashers-6936866f100b\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Mel Magazine;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><em>Mel Magazine<\/em><\/a>, \u201cI had zero money and needed to eat. We\u2019d line our pockets with Saran Wrap and leave with our pants stuffed with cold cuts. This shows you the level of how pathetic this all is, because the guys in our film crash weddings for sex. Um, we were crashing for food.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Dobkin had been searching for a project to unite Vaughn and Wilson, but the other spots didn\u2019t come easy. \u201cI\u2019d seen more than 200 people for [Claire], and the studio [New Line] had called me to meet with them,\u201d he says. \u201cThey were going to force me to make a decision, because the casting was going over budget and I couldn\u2019t find the person. The very last person before that meeting was Rachel McAdams. I\u2019ve almost never auditioned in my life. I\u2019m absolutely dreadful at it, and I never had to because I somehow ended up starring in things from an early age. When I first read it, I just thought it was hilarious. But I was straight off of Dr. Quinn, and I thought, \u2018Oh God, that audience is going to hate me for doing this.\u2019 Then I read it a second time \u2014 it was even funnier, specifically the [seduction] scene that I would be doing [in the audition]. Bradley Cooper is the only person who was an exception. I couldn\u2019t find anyone, and then he came in the room and he was amazing. He was like a thoroughbred. I remember going up to him and saying, \u2018Dude, you\u2019re awesome! You got the part!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Fisher was up against the likes of Oscar winner <strong>Anna Paquin<\/strong> and <strong>Shannon Elizabeth<\/strong> for the role of Gloria, and says, \u201cI just got lucky. It felt like a movie you\u2019ve seen a million times before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Vaughn adds that the four of them \u201cwent through the entire script, and there wasn\u2019t a scene that we didn\u2019t go through and change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">There was also a lot of ad-libbing during filming. Wilson made up the cheesy line when he tells a dewy-eyed bridesmaid, \u201cYou know how they say we only use 10 percent of our brains?
