George Clooney <\/a>has achieved the impossible: getting Adam Sandler<\/a> to suit up.<\/p>\n The actors star together in the upcoming movie Jay Kelly, and Clooney is proud that he’s had a positive impact on Sandler’s fashion choices during their recent red carpet events.<\/p>\n “I’ve actually been making Adam wear suits,” Clooney told PEOPLE<\/a> at the Jay Kelly premiere at the New York Film Festival on Monday. “Don’t you think he looks nicer instead of those big baggy shorts?”<\/p>\n XNY\/Star Max\/GC<\/p>\n Adam Sandler<\/p><\/div>\n Clooney went on to praise his costar for being “the sweetest man in the world.”<\/p>\n The Oscar winner added, “I love him. He’s a dear friend and the fact that I got to work with him again is [great].”<\/p>\n Sandler’s signature look of baggy tops and even baggier shorts have become iconic, in their own way. However, it can’t be denied that a formal suit just looks better for a red carpet event.<\/p>\n The comedian previously spoke with\u00a0Complex<\/a>\u00a0in July\u00a0about unintentionally becoming a subversive style icon for his baggy look. He admitted that he doesn’t really “think about it,” but has noticed that it’s become a viral trend.<\/p>\n “It’s funny as hell,” Sandler said. “And whenever one of my kids or their friends talks to me about it … my wife’s like, ‘What the hell are we talking about right now? Your wife’s dressed so beautifully,'” Sandler said. “My wife would say, ‘He\u2019s comfortable like that. Let him do that. The movie is written and directed by Noah Baumbach<\/a>, marking Sandler’s first collaboration with the filmmaker since 2017’s\u00a0The Meyerowitz Stories: New and Selected.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Clooney has never worked with Baumbach as a director, though he previously delivered the filmmaker’s dialogue in 2009’s\u00a0Fantastic Mr. Fox, which the\u00a0Frances Ha\u00a0director co-wrote with Wes Anderson.<\/p>\n Jay Kelly opens in select theaters Nov. 14 before streaming on Netflix on Dec. 5.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
