Robyn<\/a> previewed new music at Acne Studios\u2019 show at Paris Fashion Week \u2013 check out clips below.<\/p>\n The Swedish pop icon hasn\u2019t released an album since 2018\u2019s critically acclaimed \u2018Honey<\/a>\u2018, but speculation about her imminent return was fuelled last month<\/a>\u00a0when her longtime collaborator, Klas \u00c5hlund, appeared on the Nordmark Pod <\/em><\/a>and said he had \u201cjust finished a new Robyn album that\u2019s coming out\u201d.<\/p>\n On October 1, Acne Studios held its SS26 womenswear runway show at Coll\u00e8ge des Bernardins in Paris. Jonny Johansson is the co-founder of the fashion house and a long-time friend of Robyn\u2019s, and she and Patrik Berger arranged the score for the show.<\/p>\n Among the material on the soundtrack was a revamped take on \u2018Robotboy\u2019 that saw her joined by Yung Lean<\/a>.\u00a0Speaking about teaming up with him, Robyn told Dazed Digital<\/em><\/a> he was\u00a0\u201da kindred spirit\u201d and said the song felt like \u201cit was made for him\u201d rather than her.<\/p>\n Touching on creating together a soundtrack to the show, she continued: \u201cThere was an unexpected dialogue between the music and the clothes that I just didn\u2019t see coming\u201d.<\/p>\n While she was tight-lipped on details about the new record, she told Dazed<\/em> she had used \u201csounds and some lyrics to build a new collage which is very personal and real\u201d.<\/p>\n As noted by Stereogum<\/em><\/a>, the material heard in clips posted by Acne aren\u2019t all entirely new, and included a reworked version of 2005\u2019s \u2018Should Have Known\u2019, with new lyrics including: \u201cFuck a app, I need me some IRL\/ Fuck a single mom, I\u2019m not judgmental\/ Fuck a Plan B baby, it\u2019s no big deal.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n Her last studio effort \u2018Honey\u2019 was awarded four stars from\u00a0NME,\u00a0<\/i>in a review that noted<\/a>: \u201cFrom an artist who conjures up so many lofty titles \u2013 pop genius being one of them \u2013 this is a record that takes an altogether different tack to cut through to the raw, complex tangle of emotion.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking to\u00a0NME<\/em>\u00a0at the time of its release,<\/a>\u00a0she explained the album\u2019s title, saying: \u201cI\u2019ve been obsessed with this word for a long time, it\u2019s such a weird substance, it\u2019s both disgusting and amazing at the same time. That\u2019s what self-love is, it\u2019s not all good; it\u2019s self-indulgent and also requires you to be deep and look at things that aren\u2019t so comfortable.\u201d<\/p>\n Two years later,\u00a0Robyn was honoured as the Songwriter Of The Decade at the\u00a0NME<\/em>\u00a0Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n Presented the award by\u00a0Charli XCX<\/a>\u00a0and H\u00e9lo\u00efse Letissier of\u00a0Christine And The Queens<\/a>, Robyn went on to say: \u201cI\u2019ve prepared a long speech. I feel like I\u2019m at the awards show at the\u00a0Fifth Element<\/i>, the [Luc Besson] film and I\u2019m very flattered for the appreciation that\u00a0NME<\/i>\u00a0has shown me over the years. But this is kind of a lifelong prize to be the Songwriter Of The Decade and I appreciate it so much.\u201d<\/p>\n Talking to us in the winners room, Robyn said that she was planning to work on new songs that didn\u2019t make it onto \u2018Honey\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThere are leftovers,\u201d Robyn told us at the time. \u201cSome of them I\u2019m going to record this summer, I hope. Usually, I finish songs. If I start them, I finish them. The last album took eight years. I hope it won\u2019t take that long next time.\u201d<\/p>\n In the years since the release of \u2018Honey\u2019, she\u2019s appeared on a few tracks with other artists, including \u2018Call My Name\u2019, a 2021 collaboration with the Swedish duo Smile<\/a>, and\u00a0a remix of<\/a>\u00a0Charli XCX\u2019<\/a>s\u00a0\u2018360\u2019 with\u00a0Yung Lean\u00a0last year.<\/p>\n This year, she\u2019s made a few live appearances, starting off by\u00a0teaming up with David Byrne for a rendition of \u2018Dancing on My Own\u2019<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0Saturday Night Live<\/i><\/a>\u2019s 50th anniversary concert, and\u00a0later with Gracie Abrams at Lollapalooza<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n
