But is the band really done?<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The renowned British rockers wrapped The Song is Over North American Farewell Tour on Oct. 1 at Acrisure Arena, and it was everything a great rock \u2018n\u2019 roll show should be, but the musicians didn\u2019t do anything special to mark the last time they\u2019d be performing together. Instead of a big tribute or surprise, the show simply ended with a brief thank-you speech by guitarist and co-founder Pete Townshend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Even though Acrisure Arena put a poll on its Facebook page asking fans to vote on who was most likely to appear as a special guest for The Who (and named everyone from Paul McCartney to Pearl Jam to Aerosmith, nobody appeared. The only other artist that played were the members of opening act The Sedonas, a Knoxville blues-rock band.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Instead, the night belonged entirely to The Who.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><span class=\"exclude-from-newsgate\"><strong>See the full setlist: <\/strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/music\/articles\/setlist-2025-included-everything-baba-065354678.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:The Who setlist 2025 included everything from 'Baba O\u2019Riley' to 'Pinball Wizard';elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">The Who setlist 2025 included everything from &#8216;Baba O\u2019Riley&#8217; to &#8216;Pinball Wizard&#8217;<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Frontman Roger Daltrey, Townshend and the rest of the band sounded like a well-oiled machine starting off with two of its early classics, \u201cI Can\u2019t Explain\u201d and \u201cSubstitute,\u201d followed by the 1978 hard rock tune \u201cWho Are You,\u201d and going right into \u201cThe Seeker\u201d and \u201cI Can See For Miles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cWe were thinking (the tour) could be a disaster, but it\u2019s been quite the opposite,\u201d Townshend told the crowd early in the set.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Halfway through the set, Townshend reflected on Shakespeare and the phrase \u201cLong live the King\u201d and how it\u2019s struck him since childhood. Townshend said \u201cOne of these knees was replaced, but I can\u2019t remember which one, I\u2019ll have to look for the scar\u201d and asked the audience if they wanted to see before he started hopping around.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThere\u2019s nothing wrong with (my knee). The \u201cQuadrophenia\u201d era followed, with \u201cThe Real Me,\u201d \u201cI\u2019m One,\u201d \u201c5:15,\u201d and a vocally outstanding performance of \u201cLove Reign O\u2019er Me\u201d by Daltrey, which brought the entire audience to its feet for a standing ovation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As The Who performed \u201cWon\u2019t Get Fooled Again\u201d and \u201cBaba O\u2019Riley,\u201d the show\u2019s end felt close, and when the volume and energy were brought down with \u201cThe Song Is Over,\u201d that set the stage for \u201cTea &amp; Theatre,\u201d a reflective and personal song between Daltrey and Townshend reflecting on late band members, drummer Keith Moon and bassist John Entwistle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Many bands and legacy acts have done retirement or \u201cfarewell\u201d tours only to announce they changed their minds a couple of years later. It\u2019s hard to say if that\u2019s the case with The Who.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">If that was The Who\u2019s last performance, both Daltrey and Townshend went out strong on an excellent performance with a setlist that wasn\u2019t just hits, but a journey through the band\u2019s legacy.
