Chieng aired an AI clip<\/a> shared by the president last weekend that shows House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries<\/a> (D-N.Y.) with a mustache and wearing a sombrero as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer<\/a> (D-N.Y.), in remarks backed by mariachi music, slams transgender people.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWhat the fuck did I just watch? Trump is making fun of a Black man for being Mexican? It\u2019s almost too confusing to be racist. It\u2019s like putting a headdress on the Twin Towers,\u201d Chieng quipped.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t even know what you\u2019re trying to say! I don\u2019t have the racist math skills to solve this equation. I\u2019d never thought I\u2019d say this, \u2018But Donald Trump<\/a>, can you be better at racism?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Chieng \u2014 who called for a \u201cserious and sober-minded\u201d Trump to find \u201ccompromise\u201d with Democrats to end the government shutdown<\/a> \u2014 gave props to Jeffries for denouncing the \u201cdisgusting\u201d video on MSNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He then turned to the response from Trump, who shared an AI version<\/a> of the MSNBC clip that again portrays Jeffries with a mustache and a sombrero while deepfake versions of the president appear to play mariachi music behind him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cGoddamn, this makes even less sense but is even more funny? What is the bit here? So Hakeem Jeffries is Mexican now, and so is Trump, and they started a mariachi band?\u201d Chieng asked.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
