TOPEKA (KSNT<\/a>) \u2013 The 21st Annual Slash & Bash<\/a> film festival celebrates all things horror and science fiction in Topeka on Oct. 3 and 4.<\/p>\n The Woodshed in north Topeka will host the festival which will present more than 10 horror and science-fiction movies and host costume contests, panel discussions and workshops about the ins and outs of the movie business, from makeup and costume design to acting and directing. The festival has events scheduled from 7 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 3 and from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 4.<\/p>\n Some events scheduled for the festival include:<\/p>\n \u201cChangeling<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 7 p.m. on Oct. 3.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n \u201cBill and Ted\u2019s Excellent Adventure<\/strong><\/strong>\u201d \u2013 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 3.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n \u201cBlack Mass<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 6:20 p.m. on Oct. 4.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n \u201cTerrorVision<\/strong><\/strong>\u201d \u2013 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 4.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Many of these viewings are prefaced by an introduction by directors, actors, writers and others who worked on the films attendees will watch. Guests like Diane Franklin and Victoria Price are famous for their performances in cult classics like \u201cEdward Scissorhands\u201d and \u201cBetter Off Dead.\u201d<\/p>\n The festival is also an opportunity for those interested in working in horror and science fiction to meet locals already in the business.
