It\u2019s clear that Mariah Carey<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0isn\u2019t obsessed with drama.<\/p>\n

Especially when it pertains to her longtime rival Eminem<\/strong>. The \u201cObsessed\u201d singer cleared the air about the rumor that their beef started because she didn\u2019t want to play the rapper\u2019s mother in <\/a>8 Mile<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWho knows who approached who,\u201d Mariah explained about whether there was validity to the story during the Oct. 1 episode of Watch What Happens Live<\/a><\/em>. \u201cNo, I mean maybe. It depends what he\u2019s thinking.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Though host Andy Cohen <\/strong>questioned whether <\/strong>that incident \u201cignited the beef,\u201d Mariah simply couldn\u2019t be concerned with the \u201cMockingbird\u201d\u00a0rapper\u2019s issues with her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really don\u2019t care,\u201d she said. \u201cWhatever he\u2019s said that I\u2019m that, fine. Not really, that\u2019s a rap lyric.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

In June, Mariah\u2019s former manager Damizza Young<\/strong>\u00a0claimed that she was initially excited to take a call with the rapper to discuss appearing in a film. However, once Eminem got her on the phone, it was all downhill.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want you to play my mother,\u201d Damizza said on the TFU<\/a><\/em>\u00a0podcast as he recalled Eminem, 52, telling Mariah, 56, before revealing her reaction. \u201cShe did not like that s–t at all. Her insecurities kicked in big time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
