Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs is set to be sentenced on Friday morning<\/a> after being convicted of transporting women to participate in drug-fueled sex marathons.<\/p>\n

The 55-year-old hip-hop mogul is due to appear in federal district court in Manhattan before Judge Arun Subramanian, who will decide his fate.<\/p>\n

Combs faces a maximum of 20 years in prison. In July, a jury found him guilty<\/a> on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution related to his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura and a victim who testified under the pseudonym \u201cJane.\u201d Each count carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. But Combs was acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, which could have landed him in prison for life.<\/p>\n

Federal prosecutors are asking Subramanian to sentence Combs to more than 11 years in prison \u2014 or no less than 135 months \u2014 as well as impose the maximum fine of $500,000. In court papers filed earlier this week, they argued that Combs has shown no remorse and that his sentence \u201cshould reflect the substantial psychological, emotional, and physical damage he has inflicted\u201d on his victims.<\/p>\n

The defense is seeking a sentence of no more than 14 months in prison<\/a>, including the time Combs has already served since his September 2024 arrest. His lawyers argued that his \u201clegacy has been destroyed\u201d and that he has been punished enough.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has served over a year in one of the most notorious jails in America \u2014 yet has made the most of that punishment,\u201d Combs\u2019s defense team said in a court filing. \u201cIt is time for Mr. Combs to go home to his family.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the eve of his sentencing, Combs sent a four-page letter<\/a> to Subramanian saying he is sorry “for all of the hurt and pain” he has caused for others, and asking for the judge’s mercy.<\/p>\n

“I realize that this trial has received a tremendous amount of global press and Your Honor may be inclined to make an example out of me,” Combs wrote. “I would ask Your Honor to make me an example of what a person can do if afforded a second chance.”<\/p>\n
