After suffering multiple health issues<\/a> after welcoming her seventh child, Erin Bates gave fans a positive update on her post-birth recovery.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t even have the words.<\/p>\n \ufffd\ufffd<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n For weeks, my leg has not worked (since my seizure in the hospital). I\u2019ve been carried, wheeled, and held up through tears and prayers\u2026 and today \u2014 it moved. Today I took steps,\u201d Bates shared in a Thursday, October 2, Instagram<\/a> post. \u201cThey might be a little wobbly, but they are steps I wasn\u2019t sure I\u2019d ever take again.\u201d<\/p>\n Noting that she\u2019s \u201ccried until I laughed, and laughed until I cried,\u201d Bates said her \u201cheart is overflowing with gratitude.\u201d In addition to praising her faith and thanking fans for their support, Bates also thanked\u00a0the medical professionals \u201cwho have poured so much into my recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n She concluded, \u201cToday we are standing (literally!) in awe, giving thanks for every single step forward.<\/p>\n \ufffd\ufffd<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n \ufffd\ufffd<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n .\u201d<\/p>\n Bates\u2019 latest medical update was accompanied by new photos of herself, her husband, Chad Paine, and all seven of their children.<\/p>\n Fans and relatives celebrated Bates\u2019 happy news in the post\u2019s comments. \u201cBest news ever! We have all been praying for you, and we\u2019re absolutely thrilled<\/p>\n \ufffd\ufffd\ufffd\ufffd<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n God is good!\u201d wrote Erin\u2019s brother Lawson Bates. You can see the joy radiating off each and every one of you.<\/p>\n \ufffd\ufffd<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n \ufffd\ufffd<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n ,\u201d one fan posted, while another added, \u201cWonderful news!<\/p>\n \ufffd\ufffd<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Such a beautiful family!\u201d<\/p>\n One week after welcoming their youngest child, Paine revealed via Instagram<\/a> that Erin was in the ICU after developing \u201ca severe UTI and kidney infection, which sent her into septic shock.\u201d A few days later, Paine shared in another post<\/a> that his wife had suffered a \u201csuffered a lengthy and severe seizure.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe is in the ICU, and the doctors are running scans and tests to determine the cause. Erin is extremely weak and spent hours only half conscious,\u201d he wrote on September 4. \u201cAs her husband, it is one of the hardest things I\u2019ve ever faced \u2014 to sit by her side and watch her struggle while being so helpless to ease her suffering. I love her more deeply than words can express, and I can\u2019t even imagine life without my best friend.\u201d<\/p>\n Erin returned home after spending three weeks in the hospital, but found herself unable to use<\/a> one of her legs. \u201cWe don\u2019t have all the answers yet, and I still don\u2019t have function in my right leg, but we are choosing to count every blessing\u2014especially the gift of being together again,\u201d she shared in a September 13 Instagram<\/a> upload. \u201cYour prayers have carried us through and mean the world to our family.\u201d<\/p>\n In their second-most-recent Instagram<\/a> update, Erin wrote, \u201cMy leg still isn\u2019t functioning, but I am learning how to navigate using a walker and wheelchair much better now. I\u2019ve been doing physical therapy consistently and they are hopeful that time will heal!\u201d<\/p>\n The September 26 post also commemorated one month since Henry\u2019s birth. \u201cOne month of loving you and thanking God for His goodness EVERY. SINGLE.
