Skullcrusher has shared a new single.<\/p>\n
Drifting between delicate folk and dreamy pop, the piano-driven Dragon is the latest preview of the singer-songwriter’s new album, ‘And Your Song is Like a Circle’, due out on October 17 via her new label home at Dirty Hit. She said:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n “I wrote Dragon while thinking about dissociation and how it can feel to be brought back to the ground from this state. Like in \u2018Spirited Away\u2019 when Chihiro begins to disappear in the spirit world she touches Haku\u2019s hand, which pulls her back but then she can\u2019t move her legs. It is a heavy thing to feel the weight of living and pull yourself back to earth. I was interested in the idea of this being a heavy burden but also a necessary aspect of living. It is hopeful but scary as well. Similar to the way armor is a protection but also a burden, either physically or mentally. It\u2019s difficult to protect yourself.”<\/p>\n

Ballentine announced the follow-up to\u00a02022’s ‘Quiet The Room’ back in July alongside sharing its\u00a0lead single, Exhale<\/a>, which was followed by a second track called\u00a0March<\/a>\u00a0in August, and Living earlier in October.<\/p>\n
She’ll celebrate the record’s release with\u00a0an intimate show at New York’s Night Club 101 on October 6. Tickets are on sale now.<\/p>\n
