Disgraced mogul Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs<\/a> has been sentenced to 50 months in prison following his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.<\/a><\/p>\n

The judge issuing his sentencing, Arun Subramanian, said, “Here, the data shows a wide variety of sentences. Weighing all the relevant factors, the Court determines that the sentences is 50 months of incarceration.”<\/p>\n

“A sentence over 11 years is not reasonable.<\/a> Even the Probation Department recommends a sentence less than half of that. But 14 months, time served, would not be sufficient,” the judge said about previous sentencing suggestions.<\/a><\/p>\n

“The Court imposes a fine of $500,000, including to defray the costs of imprisonment. There is no restitution, but there is forfeiture as reflected in the order. There is a $5000 fine under the statute, and special assessment, $200,” Subramanian added.<\/p>\n

The judge also noted that they took Combs\u2019 \u201cimmense financial resources\u201d into account when making the decision, saying they \u201cenabled his crimes.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He was then held behind bars in New York<\/a> City at the Metropolitan Detention Center. Despite multiple attempts at bail, he remained in custody throughout his trial and in the months preceding his sentencing.<\/p>\n

While in prison, Diddy began to teach a class to other inmates, even drafting up a syllabus. \u201cThe course offers exclusive insights into the journey of Sean \u2018Diddy\u2019 Combs, tracing his rise from humble beginnings to becoming a globally recognized icon and influential business mogul,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n

His educational efforts behind bars were included in documents submitted to the judge ahead of sentencing, alongside letters of support from friends, family, and incarcerated peers.<\/p>\n

In his own letter to the judge, Diddy wrote, “Today, I humbly ask you for another chance\u2014another chance to be a better father, another chance to be a better son, another chance to be a better leader in my community, and another chance to live a better life. I am writing this not to gain any sympathy or pity, this experience is simply the truth of my existence and has changed my life forever and I will never commit a crime again.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
