Diddy<\/a> apologized to the judge overseeing his case in a letter before his sentencing on Friday<\/a>.<\/p>\n In the 4-page letter, obtained by Complex, the incarcerated mogul wrote to Judge Arun Subramanian that he takes \u201cfull responsibility and accountability\u201d for his actions, expresses his remorse to those he\u2019s hurt, and asks for mercy regarding his sentencing.<\/p>\n “First and foremost, I want to apologize and say how sincerely sorry I am for all of the hurt and pain that I have caused others by my conduct. My domestic violence will always be a heavy burden that I will have to forever carry,\u201d he said to Cassie.<\/p>\n When speaking to Jane, he wrote, \u201cYour honor, I thought I was providing for Jane concerning her and her child, but after hearing her testimony, I realized that I hurt her. For this I am deeply sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n According to Diddy, his crimes were due to his \u201cselfishness,\u201d when he was \u201clost in the drugs and the excess.\u201d He also claimed that spending the past year in prison has been rehabilitative for him. \u201cThere have been some days I thought I would be better off dead. The old me died in jail, and a new version of me was reborn. Prison will change you or kill you\u2014I choose to live.\u201d<\/p>\n In his letter, Diddy\u2014who has been incarcerated since September 2024\u2014requested leniency in his sentence so he can have “another chance to be a better father, another chance to be a better son, another chance to be a better leader in my community, and another chance to live a better life.”<\/p>\n He added, “I ask you for mercy today, not only for my sake, but for the sake of my children.\u201d<\/p>\n On Friday, Diddy is set to be sentenced for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, for which Subramanian can hand down a sentence of anything between time served and 20 years behind bars, the maximum allowed by law.
