Now, a new entertainment zone on the SF waterfront is hosting its <strong>debut party this weekend<\/strong>. While the party will have to-go drinks for adults, it\u2019s still a family-friendly affair. You can expect arts and crafts, face painting, and a silent disco. From <strong>12 to 4 pm<\/strong>, you can expect a DJ playing 80s dance hits that are perfect for dancing. The party will end with live music from the band Fast Times, performing nostalgic hits from artists like Whitney Houston, Prince, Madonna, Michael Jackson, and more.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to kick-off the first Entertainment Zone on the Waterfront,\u201d <strong>said Scott Gentner, President and CEO of PIER 39<\/strong>. \u201cWe are excited for the opportunity to bring more people to the Waterfront and The PIER. For 47 years PIER 39 has been an entertainment hub in the city making this celebration a natural fit.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While you\u2019re at the pier, we recommend exploring some of the local shops and restaurants, including Boudin Bakery Caf\u00e9, Humble Sea Brewing Co., and Pier Market Seafood Restaurant. You can also expect to see street performers at the pier throughout the Saturday celebration, and be sure to stop by the carousel. PIER 39 opened in <strong>1978,<\/strong> with 50 stores and <strong>23 restaurants,<\/strong> including a diving pool and street performers.
