If you’re a woman who lived through the ’90s, chances are your eyebrows are still suffering the consequences.<\/p>\n
Beloved actress and TV host Drew Barrymore<\/strong>, 50, who rose to superstardom as a child actor in films like Irreconcilable Differences<\/em> and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial<\/em>, became a Hollywood heavyweight after her comeback in the ’90s. But during that time period, when she starred in films like Poison Ivy<\/em>, Boys on the Side<\/em>, and Scream<\/em>, she also adopted a few trademark looks that those of us outside of Hollywood would latch onto like glue. Take her overplucked eyebrows, for example. The film star was known for her thin brows during this time period, and girls all over the world were eager to tweeze like their lives depended on it.<\/p>\n In a new Instagram post, Barrymore posted a fun throwback photo in honor of National Brow Day that should make any woman who’s still attempting to get her eyebrows to grow back normally itch with discomfort.<\/p>\n “I heard I just missed national brow day! You\u2019re not allowed to convince us this is in style\u2026AGAIN! We spent years trying to grow them back!” another joined in.<\/p>\n “You’re so lucky.. Mine never grew back \ud83d\ude22\ud83d\ude02x,” someone else said.<\/p>\n During Thursday\u2019s episode of\u00a0The Drew Barrymore Show<\/em>, Barrymore reflected on some of her most difficult moments with guest Matthew McConaughey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cFrom 10 to 20 was the hardest decade of my life. I made a lot of mistakes. I had to pick myself back up. It was messy as can be. It\u2019s my favorite decade,\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n \u201cForty to 50 was also when I didn\u2019t think it could get any harder than that,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd a lot of things happened in my life \u2014\u00a0especially once kids are involved \u2014\u00a0I was like, \u2018Oh, there is room under bottom. A whole bunch of it! And I just found it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n While she didn’t get too descriptive, Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a> surmised that Barrymore was referring to her split from husband Will Kopelman<\/strong> in 2016, when she was 41.<\/p>\n Despite the hardships, Barrymore came out the other end much stronger.<\/p>\n \u201cI put in a decade of self-improvement, self-awareness, and radical changes,\u201d she said. \u201cSo all this work led up to, \u2018Oh my god, time is our most precious commodity.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Barrymore isn’t just thriving personally these days. Things are going great for her professionally, as well. The Drew Barrymore Show<\/em> kicked off its sixth season to double-digit ratings growth in its second week back on air, The Wrap<\/em> reported<\/a> earlier this week.
