The inaugural Future Ruins Festival<\/a> \u2014 run by Oscar-winning duo<\/a> Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross\u00a0\u2014 has been cancelled a month before it was set to take place at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center on Nov. 8.<\/p>\n \u201cUnfortunately Future Ruins will not move forward this year,\u201d the festival announced on Friday. \u201cThe reality is, due to a number of logistical challenges and complications, we feel we cannot provide the experience that\u2019s defined what this event was always intended to be. Rather than compromise, we\u2019re choosing to re-think and re-evaluate.\u201d Per the statement, refunds will be automatically issued and ticket holders should expect an email with additional information.<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n Along with the Nine Inch Nails bandmates, Future Ruins\u2019 lineup also included sets by Devo singer and Wes Anderson composer\u00a0Mark Mothersbaugh<\/a>, horror director and composer\u00a0John Carpenter<\/a>, Oscar-winning\u00a0Joker<\/em>\u00a0composer Hildur Gu\u00f0nad\u00f3ttir, and\u00a0Questlove<\/a>\u00a0performing the film scores of Curtis Mayfield.<\/p>\n Other artists on the roster included Danny Elfman,\u00a0Stranger Things<\/em>\u00a0duo Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, Italian group Goblin, Terence Blanchard, Ben Salisbury and Geoff Barrow, Isobel Waller-Bridge, a performance of Howard Shore\u2019s\u00a0Crash<\/em>\u00a0score, and more. Many of the top composers would have been performing their scores live for the first time.<\/p>\n Earlier this summer, Nine Inch Nails\u00a0kicked off their Peel It Back Tour<\/a>, marking the band\u2019s first show run since 2022. The\u00a0European leg of the trek<\/a>\u00a0took place in June and July, while the North American tour began in August.<\/p>\n Reznor and Ross\u00a0have delivered a slew of musical projects of late, scoring Luca Guadagnino\u2019s two films last year,\u00a0Queer<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Challengers<\/em>, and leading the music for the director\u2019s upcoming picture,\u00a0After the Hunt<\/em>.
