Paul \u201cBonehead\u201d Arthurs, the guitarist for English rock band Oasis, shared a major health update with fans on Friday and confirmed he\u2019d be stepping away from the reunion tour.<\/p>\n
Arthurs took to Instagram and shared that he was currently battling prostate cancer, which he revealed he was diagnosed with earlier in the year.<\/p>\n
More from TheWrap<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThe good news is I\u2019m responding really well to treatment, which meant I could be part of this incredible tour,\u201d Arthurs wrote to fans. \u201cNow, I am having to take a planned break for the next phase of my care, so I\u2019ll be missing the gigs in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney.\u201d<\/p>\n As he continued, Arthurs told his fans that he was \u201creally sad to be missing these shows.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n Yet, he remained optimistic about his health, noting that he\u2019s was \u201cfeeling good\u201d and planned to \u201cbe back ready to go in time for South America.\u201d<\/p>\n Arthurs \u2014 a founding member of\u00a0Oasis \u2014 signed off his update: \u201cHave an amazing time if you\u2019re going this month and I\u2019ll see you back onstage with the band in November.\u201d<\/p>\n Arthurs\u2019 Oasis bandmates showed their love for the guitarist by resharing his announcement on the band\u2019s Instagram page. They also wrote, \u201cWishing you all the best with your treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n Arthurs has battled cancer before, having previously been diagnosed with tonsil cancer \u2014 a diagnosis he shared in 2022 while on tour with Liam Gallagher.<\/p>\n He took a break from playing at the time.
