comments after the hearing today.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmgbgac4d00083b6n2vuca2w3@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Brian Steel told celebrity.land he thinks the sentence \u201csends the wrong message\u201d and falsely accused of a crime, they go to trial, they have all the witnesses testify, credibility is determined, the jury reaches a verdict, and finds in their favor \u2014 and then they get sentenced for the same exact conduct that the jury found that they did not commit,\u201d Steel said. \u201cIt seems un-American.\u201d\n                <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmgbgac4d000b3b6nf37g2pum@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Steel told celebrity.land\u2019s Kara Scannell that since Combs was not convicted on sex trafficking and racketeering charges, the judge should not have considered those elements in his sentence.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmgbgac4d000c3b6n3ojrjduc@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cThere is no such corresponding element in the Mann Act,\u201d he said. \u201cThis was a very hard sentence.\u201d\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmgbgac4d000d3b6n4fkm1ij4@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Asked if he thought the judge was wrong, Steel said, \u201cWe\u2019ll find out on appeal.\u201d\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmgbgac4d000e3b6nisuygnj3@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The defense attorney said he talked to Combs after the sentencing but declined to give more details about their conversation or how his client was feeling. \u201cTwo years is an eternity in custody,\u201d Steel said.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmgbgac4d000f3b6n2ba8xs5v@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Marc Agnifilo, another one of Comb\u2019s defense attorneys, said outside the courthouse that the
