And although some of us love scary movies all year round, the rest of us might reserve this time of year for finally getting to their scary movie watchlist. Lucky for you, I\u2019m the former: a person who watches horror movies even in the dead of summer. If you\u2019re not sure what to watch this summer\u2014or want enough suggestions that cover scary, spooky, and even a little fun\u2014I\u2019ve got you covered. Here are six scary good movies to watch on Hulu this October.<\/p>\n

1. Carved<\/h2>\n

This Hulu original is set on Halloween in the year 1993. Two years after a nuclear spill that takes out the whole town, a historical pioneer village attraction has to work to survive a killer pumpkin that wants revenge. If you need some fantasy to remind you that a plot like this could never unfold in real life, Carved<\/em> is an excellent choice for movie night.<\/p>\n

2. Barbarian<\/h2>\n

Barbarian<\/em> is one of my personal favorite movies to rewatch every Halloween. When a young woman discovers the Airbnb she\u2019s booked is occupied by another person, she\u2019s forced to spend the night under the same roof\u2014only to realize her rental companion is not the only presence lurking in the house.<\/p>\n

3. Trap<\/h2>\n

Spooky, but not gory! Trap<\/em> is set within the confines of an artist\u2019s sold-out tour, where a father realizes he and his teenage daughter are at the center of a covert operation. What starts as a father-daughter bonding excursion quickly turns into an unraveling of who the young girl\u2019s father really is\u2014and how far he\u2019ll go to hide his identity.<\/p>\n

4. The Menu<\/h2>\n

If you were invited to an exclusive, secluded island restaurant, would you go? The Menu<\/em> follows a young woman who joins her boyfriend to experience an elaborate tasting menu, only to discover that the chef\u2019s intentions are much more disturbing than anyone anticipated.<\/p>\n

5. Jennifer’s Body<\/h2>\n

Horror comedies also deserve a spot on your list when it comes to Halloween movies, and Jennifer\u2019s Body<\/em> delivers. When cheerleader Jennifer is kidnapped and killed, her perpetrators think they\u2019re done with her, only to realize she\u2019s been resurrected\u2014with a mission to get revenge. This female-forward horror comedy definitely deserves a spot on your October watch list, especially if you need a few laughs in between some solid scares.<\/p>\n

6. Practical Magic<\/h2>\n

Last but not least, a ’90s classic. Practical Magic<\/em> stars Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, both born into a magical family. When one of their boyfriends dies mysteriously, the two girls are forced to enhance their magic skills. As the local police officers grow suspicious of the girls, they\u2019re eventually faced with an evil spirit that they must conquer before it ends their family line forever.<\/p>\n
