The Oscar-winning co-star behind it all is none other than George Clooney<\/strong>, his co-star in the film, Jay Kelly<\/em>.<\/p>\n Clooney told PEOPLE at the New York Film Festival that he helped Sandler trade his baggy shirts and shorts for a more streamlined look. The result is a polished yet unmistakably Sandler style of dressing.<\/p>\n “I actually [have] been making Adam wear suits. He’s cultivated an infamous style he’s since become synonymous with.<\/p>\n While he now embraces baggy shirts and shorts for comfort, he revealed on the Barstool Sports<\/a> podcast Pardon My Take<\/em> in 2025 the reason why he initially decided to dress this way, no matter what the occasion, was very different.<\/p>\n Sandler explained that the look started as a gag to impress people at the beach. He said, “The baggy stuff for the young Adam Sandler started for a reason. I used to be very, and this is not a lie; I was jacked.”<\/p>\n “I had a beautiful body. So I\u2019d hide it and then surprise you at the beach when the stuff came off. It would be like, \u2018The Sandman\u2019s ripped? I didn\u2019t know that,'” he concluded.<\/p>\n To Esquire<\/a>, Adam Sandler revealed another reason he typically favors baggy clothing. By wearing oversized items, he doesn’t have to go to a tailor.<\/p>\n He revealed, \u201cI go with a lot of XXL even though I\u2019ve been told I don\u2019t need a XXL. I wear the XXL shirts.”<\/p>\n He added, “I wear the XXL shorts. I pull my socks up, goofy, and I wear my sneakers.
