A year after the tragic death of former bandmate Liam Payne, One Direction<\/a> alumni Louis Tomlinson<\/a> and Zayn Malik<\/a> are set to star in a road trip documentary series for Netflix.<\/p>\n In the forthcoming three-part TV show, the title of which is yet to be announced, Tomlinson and Malik will travel across the United States. And during that reunion, they\u2019re expected to discuss their grief around Payne\u2019s death, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n The series will be \u201ca rare look inside the world of two of the most famous \u2014 and most private \u2014 men on the planet opening up about life, loss, and fatherhood,\u201d according to a synopsis the singers\u2019 representatives offered to the outlet.<\/p>\n Nicola Marsh will direct the series, having previously helped Child Star<\/a><\/em>, Song Exploder<\/a><\/em>, and Stay on Board: The Leo Baker Story<\/a><\/em>. And the series comes from Campfire Studios, the production company behind Unknown Number: The High School Catfish<\/a><\/em>, SmartLess: On the Road<\/a><\/em>, and America\u2019s Sweethearts: The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n One Direction formed on the U.K. reality competition The X Factor<\/a><\/em> in 2010 and went on to become one of the most successful boy bands of all time. Their five studio albums all went Platinum<\/a>, four out of the five hit No. 1<\/a>, and they had 29 songs chart on the Billboard<\/em> Hot 100. He was 31 years old.<\/p>\n In an Instagram statement at the time<\/a>, Malik said he felt \u201cbeyond devastated,\u201d as he had \u201clost a brother\u201d whom he loved and respected dearly. \u201cI hope that wherever you are right now you are good and are at peace and you know how loved you are,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n And in another Instagram tribute<\/a>, Tomlinson said, \u201cLiam was, in my opinion, the most vital part of One Direction. His experience from a young age, his perfect pitch, his stage presence, his gift for writing. The list goes on.
