Gerry Turner\u2019s journey is taking him down the aisle, again.<\/p>\n
The \u201cGolden Bachelor\u201d alum, 74, announced he is engaged to Lana Sutton in an\u00a0Instagram\u00a0post<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve got BIG news. The Golden Bachelor is OFF the market. I found my perfect match and she said \u2018YES\u2019. I Love this woman,\u201d Turner captioned his post. <\/p>\n The reality star shared a slew of pictures, including images on the beach with Sutton, who showcased her dazzling diamond. <\/p>\n \u201cOMG! Congratulations! Wishing you both the most wonderful life, filled with love, good health, and laughs. \ud83d\udc8d\ud83c\udf7e\ud83c\udf89\u2764\ufe0f,\u201d one fan wrote beneath the shots while another chimed in, \u201cCongratulations!!!!! You two are STUNNING together! And you both look so freaking happy! How could people not celebrate this?! She is gorgeous(!!!), just saying!\u201d<\/p>\n Rounding out the sweet comments another social media user added, \u201cLove is like this, sometimes it\u2019s one catch, sometimes it\u2019s several, at the end of the day you never give up on it ! Congratulations Gerry ! We have one life, enjoy it to the fullest \ud83d\ude42.\u201d<\/p>\n Sutton took to her own page to tell her followers the exciting news.<\/p>\n \u201cBIG announcement\u2026\u2026we\u2019re ENGAGED!\ud83d\udc8d\ud83c\udf89\u2764\ufe0f,\u201d she penned<\/a>. \u201cThe Golden Bachelor Season 1 led me to the man of my dreams\u2026..Gerry Turner!!! I love you, Babe, more than I ever thought possible! We are perfect together! I am so proud of US as a couple. \u2764\ufe0f\ud83d\udc8d.\u201d<\/p>\n Two weeks prior, the couple took a trip to Toronto, Canada.<\/p>\n Sutton posted on\u00a0Instagram<\/a>, \u201cHad a wonderful trip to Niagara Falls on the Canada side! Loved every moment with @goldengerryturner ! Oh Canada \ud83c\udde8\ud83c\udde6.\u201d <\/p>\n In April, it was revealed that Turner was dating\u00a0a retired school teacher named Lana,\u00a0who also lived in Indiana, per TMZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n That same month, the ABC vet told People that he and Sutton have traveled somewhere new \u201cpretty much every weekend\u201d since they began seeing each other in March.<\/p>\n The pair had even gone to North Carolina so Turner could meet Sutton\u2019s parents.<\/p>\n The news of Turner\u2019s proposal comes 15 months after he finalized his\u00a0divorce from Theresa Nist, 72,<\/a>\u00a0in 2024. <\/p>\n The exes first\u00a0got engaged at the end of 2023<\/a>\u00a0on the \u201cGolden Bachelor\u201d before\u00a0exchanging vows on a TV special<\/a>\u00a0in January 2024. But by April of that year, Turner and Nist announced in an\u00a0interview with\u00a0\u201cGood Morning America\u201d that\u00a0they were divorcing<\/a>.<\/p>\n In December 2024, Turner revealed he had been\u00a0diagnosed with a blood cell cancer<\/a>, Waldenstr\u00f6m\u2019s macroglobulinemia, claiming it played into their breakup.<\/p>\n He also alleged that he and Nist each wanted to live close to their families in different states.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you are hit with that kind of news and the shock wears off after a few days or a few weeks and you regroup and you realize what\u2019s important to you, that\u2019s where you start to move forward,\u201d Turner\u00a0told People<\/a> at the time. \u201cAnd I hope that people understand in retrospect now that that had a huge bearing on my decisions and I think probably Theresa\u2019s as well.\u201d <\/p>\n In June, the New Jersey native revealed that the pair \u201cabsolutely\u201d didn\u2019t split<\/a> over his cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was a zero factor, zero. Absolutely. I was just so surprised that he even said that,\u201d Nist said on an episode\u00a0of\u00a0\u201cThe Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0\u201cI knew about the cancer a long time ago. And the way Gary presented it to me was that, \u2018The doctor said that I\u2019m going to die of old age before this cancer gets to me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe bluffed it off, like it really wasn\u2019t that important,\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd he had no symptoms, and he still doesn\u2019t. So we never had a conversation that said, \u2018Oh my gosh, you\u2019re sick. I can\u2019t stay with you now. I have to leave.\u2019 That never happened.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cThey interviewed him the day before they interviewed me,\u201d Nist continued on the podcast. \u201cAnd right before my interview, they contacted me, and they said, \u2018Hey, we want to talk to you right now, because Gerry just came out and said that his illness was the reason you broke up.\u2019 And I go, \u2018What?\u2019 I said, \u2018No, it wasn\u2019t that.\u2019 There was zero conversation about that being in it.\u201d<\/p>\n Although, at the time, the reality television vet felt maybe Turner believed what he was saying.<\/p>\n \u201cIf that was the reason, it was in his mind only, never discussed as a reason. He said it was a factor that weighed heavily into my decision. And I would imagine Theresa\u2019s, too,\u201d Nist confessed. \u201cHe just imagined. But it had nothing to do with it. Nothing. I would have never left my husband over in illness. I stayed with my husband, Billy. I mean, for years he was sick, and he passed away at home. He was in hospice. I mean, it was really pretty bad. But I would never leave \u2026 That\u2019s just not me. That wouldn\u2019t happen.\u201d <\/p>\n But the finance whiz is all for her ex finding love again. <\/p>\n \u201cI really am happy for him,\u201d Nist, who\u2019s also dating, expressed. \u201cAnd if he had to find his person by going this circuitous route, then he did, then it was successful. He found someone that really suits him, and that\u2019s wonderful. So I think it worked out the way it was supposed to work out.\u201d<\/p>\n In September 2024, the influencer made it clear she had no hard feelings\u00a0toward Turner. <\/p>\n \u201cSo Gerry and I have spoken,\u201d Nist\u00a0exclusively told The Post<\/a>. \u201cWe don\u2019t speak regularly.\u00a0I would say\u00a0I wish him all the best, and I can see that he has so many friends, and I\u2019m so happy for him that he does.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
