For any designer, the opportunity to dress one of today\u2019s biggest stars would be a welcome thrill. But for Brooklyn-based artist Kelsey Randall<\/a>, the chance to create not one, but two custom looks for Taylor Swift<\/a> was a real dream come true. \u201cWhen I launched my brand 10 years ago, the first name on the top of my list of people I wanted to dress was always Taylor Swift,\u201d she shared on her Instagram this morning, letting her followers into the process behind the showgirl\u2019s custom chainmail dress.<\/p>\n Designed for \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia\u201d<\/a> music video, which premiered in theaters as part of Swift’s Party of a Showgirl<\/a> film, the appropriately named \u201cOphelia\u201d dress was fashioned with a gold chain halter neckline and dramatic open back silhouette. Randall and her team intricately constructed the piece with clear chainmail discs, each encrusted with rhinestones and gemstones in shades of purple, orange, and yellow. To finish it off, fringe tassels fell from discs in varying lengths, creating a cascading waterfall miniskirt. Styled by Joseph Cassell<\/a>, the piece was pared with iridescent heels, fishnet ankle socks, and shiny pink nails for a look fit for a showgirl.<\/p>\n If that wasn\u2019t enough, Swift also wore a green-tinted look in a similar style from Randall, with a V-shaped hem made of crystal prisms, in The Life of a Showgirl<\/a> album photography by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott. \u201cIt has truly been the honor of my career to design for my favorite artist,\u201d the designer shared, calling the collaboration a \u201cfashion girl\u2019s dream.\u201d<\/p>\n You Might Also Like<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
