{"id":2069167,"date":"2025-10-04T19:18:16","date_gmt":"2025-10-04T19:18:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2069167"},"modified":"2025-10-04T19:18:16","modified_gmt":"2025-10-04T19:18:16","slug":"southern-charm-alum-kathryn-dennis-convicted-sentenced-for-dui","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/southern-charm-alum-kathryn-dennis-convicted-sentenced-for-dui\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Southern Charm&#8217; alum Kathryn Dennis convicted, sentenced for DUI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cSouthern Charm\u201d alum Kathryn Dennis has been convicted and sentenced for driving under the influence.<\/p>\n<p>Page Six confirmed the reality TV personality was taken into custody Friday at 6:54 p.m. local time in South Carolina, per the Berkeley County Sheriff\u2019s Office inmate records.<\/p>\n<p>She was sentenced to 30 days in the Berkeley County jail following an arrest made by the Goose Creek Police Department last year.<\/p>\n<p>Dennis, 34, did not immediately return Page Six\u2019s request for comment. <\/p>\n<p>On May 20, 2024, the former Bravo was <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/05\/21\/entertainment\/southern-charm-star-kathryn-dennis-arrested-for-dui-after-three-car-collision\/\">involved in a three-vehicle crash<\/a> at an intersection in the area.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.counton2.com\/news\/former-southern-charm-star-kathryn-dennis-convicted-sentenced-for-dui\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">local news network WCBD TV-2<\/a> , who first reported news of Dennis\u2019 conviction, bystanders informed police at the time that the TV star might be \u201cimpaired\u201d and that they could smell alcohol on her.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Kathryn Dennis was convicted and sentenced to 30 days in jail on Friday.  <span class=\"credit\">Berkeley County Detention Center<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The \u201cSouthern Charm\u201d star was arrested for a DUI in May 2024. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/@kathryndennis<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Responding officers at the scene noted her eyes appeared \u201cglossy.\u201d She was then booked for a DUI and for driving with an open container.<\/p>\n<p>In video of the incident previously obtained by TMZ, Dennis <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/05\/23\/entertainment\/kathryn-dennis-seen-crying-arguing-with-cops-after-dui-arrest\/\">argued with police<\/a> during and after a field sobriety test. They later handcuffed her, at which time she asked, \u201cWait why? Am I in trouble?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Bravolebrity again argued with an officer after being placed in the back seat of a police vehicle. \u201cYa\u2019ll are ruining my life \u2014\u00a0and my kids\u2019 [lives],\u201d she said in the footage. \u201cThanks for nothing.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Dennis shares\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/entertainment\/kathryn-dennis-thomas-ravenel-relationship-history\/\">daughter Kensington, 11, and son Saint Julien, 9,<\/a>\u00a0with\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/01\/12\/entertainment\/how-kathryn-dennis-feels-about-southern-charm-co-star-olivia-flowers-hooking-up-with-ex-thomas-ravenel\/\">ex Thomas Ravenel.<\/a><\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>In footage later obtained by TMZ, the mother of two was seen arguing with police officers.  <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/@kathryndennis<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>In the footage, she said she \u201cdidn\u2019t deserve\u201d to be arrested following the three-way collision. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/@kathryndennis<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>During her initial arrest, the TV personality also told an officer she wasn\u2019t \u201cstupid\u201d after he asked to do a blood alcohol test.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is some bulls\u2014t though,\u201d the mother of two exclaimed. \u201cIt\u2019s really messed up for you guys to just like take people in though. What if they have kids?
