Do not expect to see Ben Shapiro<\/strong> in the front row on Taylor Swift\u2019s<\/strong> next tour \u2014 if you were to begin with.<\/p>\n Not after the conservative media star and The Daily Wire<\/em> co-founder skewered Swift and her new album, The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>, in a video review, saying it was full of \u201cunbelievably immature\u201d lyrics \u2014 especially from someone who is a mid-30s pop billionaire.<\/p>\n \u201cCan you stop being 17 for like, half a second, please, lady? Like, you\u2019re getting married. Can you get over yourself?\u201d Shapiro vented on Friday. \u201cI know, I know we\u2019re all supposed to be on the Taylor Swift bandwagon. I can\u2019t get there guys, I just can\u2019t. She\u2019s 35-years-old, she\u2019s acting like a child.\u201d<\/p>\n That comment came before he reviewed Swift\u2019s new tune, Actually Romantic<\/em>, which many \u201cSwifties\u201d believe is her firing back at Charlie XCX. <\/strong><\/p>\n Shapiro<\/a> noted the British singer was rumored to have dissed Swift on her 2024 song Sympathy is a Knife<\/em>, and that Charlie XCX is married to George Daniel<\/strong>, the drummer in the 1975; Swift briefly dated the band\u2019s singer, Matty Healy<\/strong>. For those who do not follow Swift closely, like him, Shapiro joked the whole thing was as convoluted as a \u201cHabsburg family tree.\u201d<\/p>\n He then played the song for a brief moment, before telling his producers to cut it.<\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t handle it,\u201d Shapiro said.<\/p>\n He then moved on to reviewing more of her new album, which released late on Thursday. He was not a fan \u2014 and said Swift should lean into 1) her country roots and 2) singing about her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cMore of the same \u2014 I don\u2019t think she has the capacity to do anything but the same thing over and over and over again,\u201d Shapiro said. \u201cAgain, my encouragement to Taylor Swift is to go back to country music.
