Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> had another trick up her sleeve for her new album The Life of a Showgirl<\/em><\/a>\u2019s release weekend.<\/p>\n

Swift 35, announced on Saturday, October, 4, that The Life of a Showgirl<\/em> was getting \u201cfour limited CD releases\u201d \u2014 each featuring two newly-recorded acoustic versions of specific songs on the album.<\/p>\n

\u201cFile this under \u2018save your best for the finale\u2019\u2026 I think my favorite moments from the tour were the acoustic surprises,\u201d she wrote via Instagram<\/a>. \u201cSo I went back into the studio with Max <\/strong>[Martin<\/strong>]\u00a0and Shellback<\/strong> to record acoustic\/unplugged versions of a few of the Showgirl<\/em> songs with brand new vocals and production! Cannot WAIT for you to hear.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Life Is A Song Acoustic Version<\/em> of The Life of a Showgirl<\/em> comes with \u201cOpalite (Life Is A Song Acoustic Version)\u201d and \u201cRuin the Friendship (My Advice Version)\u201d as the bonus tracks, while the Dressing Room Rehearsal Version<\/em> features \u201cWish List (Settled Down Acoustic Version)\u201d and \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl (Dressing Room Rehearsal Acoustic Version).\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans can also pick up the Alone In My Tower Acoustic Version<\/em> with \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia (Alone In My Tower Acoustic Version)\u201d and \u201cEldest Daughter (Now You\u2019re Home Acoustic Version),\u201d as well as the So Glamorous Cabaret Version<\/em> includes \u201cElizabeth Taylor (So Glamorous Cabaret Version)\u201d and Elizabeth Taylor (Original Songwriting Voice Memo).\u201d<\/p>\n

Days before Swift\u2019s 12th album was released, she compiled a schedule of events to celebrate the album\u2019s debut, sharing the calendar via her Taylor Nation Instagram account on Monday, September 29.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlaces, everyone!\u201d the caption read. \u201c#TSTheLifeofaShowgirl comes out this week, and your official schedule is here! Make sure to clock in as we celebrate all week long.\u201d<\/p>\n

Among Swift\u2019s schedule of TV interviews and her theatrical release party, fans noticed a note on Saturday that said \u201cstandby.\u201d<\/p>\n

The schedule mentioned the album drop, the official release party and her appearance on The Graham Norton Show<\/em><\/a> on Friday, October 3, the release party and \u201cstandby\u201d on Saturday, the release party and the YouTube premiere of \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia\u201d music video and album\u2019s lyric videos on Sunday, October 5, her visit to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em> on Monday, October 6, and her takeover of Late Night With Seth Meyers<\/em> in the early hours of Thursday, October 9.<\/p>\n

In recent years, Swift has developed a reputation for surprising fans with bonus tracks shortly after releasing her new albums. With 2022\u2019s Midnights<\/em>, she dropped the 3 a.m. edition with seven additional songs just three hours after the initial 13 were released. Meanwhile, 2024\u2019s The Tortured Poets Department<\/em> was a secret double album, with 16 original songs and 15 extra tracks released on The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology<\/em> two hours later.<\/p>\n

Despite the pattern, Swift insisted she would not be releasing additional songs outside of The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>\u2019s standard edition.<\/p>\n
