\n\tTaylor Swift<\/a> announced Saturday that she re-recorded eight tracks from \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl<\/a>\u201d in acoustic versions with her co-producers Max Martin and Shellback, which will appear on four limited-edition CDs she has just put on sale in her webstore.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFile this under \u2018save your best for the finale,’\u201d she wrote on her social media accounts. \u201cI think my favorite moments from the tour were the acoustic surprises. So I went back into the studio with Max and Shellback to record acoustic\/unplugged versions of a few of the \u2018Showgirl\u2019 songs with brand new vocals and production! Cannot WAIT for you to hear.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBesides offering two acoustic bonus tracks each, the four CDs also feature fresh cover images, several of which fans will recognize as coming from the shoot for the new music video for \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia,\u201d as seen in movie theaters this weekend and on YouTube as of Sunday night.<\/p>\n

\n\tOne CD, dubbed the \u201cLife Is A Song Acoustic Version,\u201d will include \u201cOpalite (Life Is A Song Acoustic Version)\u201d and \u201cRuin the Friendship (My Advice Version)\u201d as the bonus tracks. Another, called \u201cDressing Room Rehearsal Version,\u201d will feature \u201cWi$h Li$t (Settled Down Acoustic Version)\u201d and \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl (Dressing Room Rehearsal Acoustic Version).\u201d A third, \u201cAlone In My Tower Acoustic Version,\u201d has \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia (Alone In My Tower Acoustic Version)\u201d and \u201cEldest Daughter (Now You\u2019re Home Acoustic Version)\u201d as its added attractions. And the fourth new CD, \u201cSo Glamorous Cabaret Version,\u201d includes two versions of the same track, one of which is a voice memo demo rather than a new recording: \u201cElizabeth Taylor (So Glamorous Cabaret Version)\u201d and \u201cElizabeth Taylor (Original Songwriting Voice Memo).\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe four CD editions were announced as being on her site \u201cfor 24 hours or while supplies last\u201d and are priced at $7.99 each.<\/p>\n

\n\tSales for these CDs should count toward her first-week sales, assuming they do ship in the coming week. As announced earlier Saturday, Swift already sold 2.7 million copies of \u201cShowgirl\u201d on the first day, the second-highest weekly tally for an album in Soundscan\/Luminate history. If these CDs are pressed in high quantities, they could go some way toward helping it beat the all-time record of 3.4 million set by Adele\u2019s \u201c25\u201d in 2015.<\/p>\n
