While discussing her Hamptons International Film Festival opener Eternity earlier today, Elizabeth Olsen acknowledged she \u201calways\u201d wants to return to the MCU<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is something that I love, and it\u2019s something I always want to return to,\u201d she said at a panel conversation, per People<\/a>. \u201cI think the thing that\u2019s been so special about the last five years is I\u2019ve gotten to do so much with the character that I never thought I would. There are still character through lines that have happened in the comics that I\u2019d love to do that I think fans also want to.\u201d<\/p>\n More from Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n Olsen continued, \u201cI mean, these movies aren\u2019t for critics, these movies are for fans.\u201d<\/p>\n The actress first began portraying Wanda Maximoff\/Scarlet Witch nearly a decade ago, first appearing in 2016\u2019s Captain America: Civil War. The character got a standalone limited series with WandaVision in 2021, and Olsen garnered an Emmy nomination for the role. Wanda\u2019s last appearance was in 2022\u2019s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, with Olsen having since confirmed the character died. As audiences are aware, however, even death can be overcome in the multiverse.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s really fruitful, and the stories have only gotten better for me, my character. I really enjoyed it,\u201d she said of the part, adding later on the subject of superhero fatigue (something Marvel boss Kevin Feige is making a priority in tackling): \u201cSome people have ongoing television series that they get to return to. Very few, I feel like, get to be a part of franchises that, I know we might culturally get a little bit exhausted by, but there is something about them that becomes very familial.\u201d<\/p>\n She concluded, \u201cThere\u2019s nothing else really like it, and I don\u2019t know that I\u2019ll have [that] again unless it\u2019s for an ongoing show. I do like that kind of consistency. It feels good. I mean, job security feels nice \u2014 I think we can all agree on that.\u201d<\/p>\n Olsen echoed sentiments she previously expressed last year<\/a>, saying, \u201cI\u2019d never really had the mentality of \u2018one for them, one for me.\u2019 Marvel has been such a consistent thing I\u2019ve been able to return to and has created \u2014 what\u2019s the word? \u2014 some feeling of insurance in my life that has given me freedom to choose other jobs.
