In fact, he had a lot of fun with it, joking, \u201cI think everybody\u2019s happy about it \u2013 even Fox News.\u201d<\/p>\n What followed was a collection of short clips featuring Fox News personalities, who in a spliced-together edit collectively said: \u201cBad Bunny is my favorite musician, and he should be the next president.\u201d<\/p>\n He then addressed the audience in Spanish, expressing his excitement about doing the Super Bowl, adding, \u201cI know that people all around the world who love my music are also happy.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cMore than just my achievement, it\u2019s everyone\u2019s achievement, proving that no one can ever erase or take away (Latinos\u2019) mark and our contribution to this country.\u201d<\/p>\n That\u2019s when he returned to speaking English, encouraging those who didn\u2019t understand his words to learn in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n Bad Bunny is fresh off a long residency of concerts solely performed in Puerto Rico \u2014 he went \u201con tour but at home,\u201d as he put it<\/a> to New York Magazine.<\/p>\n His run of shows brought hundreds of millions of dollars to Puerto Rico<\/a>, economists estimated.<\/p>\n His January album, \u201cDeB\u00cd TiRAR M\u00e1S FOToS,\u201d which was his sixth solo album, has spent 38 weeks on the Billboard 200 list.<\/p>\n Despite Bad Bunny\u2019s immense popularity, some US government officials and conservative media have tried to turn his Super Bowl appearance into a culture war, primarily over his anti-ICE statements<\/a>. Kristi Noem, the Homeland Security secretary, promised that ICE<\/a> would be in attendance at the Super Bowl and said that \u201cpeople should not be coming to the Super Bowl unless they\u2019re law-abiding Americans who love this country.\u201d<\/p>\n She went on to issue a tirade about the NFL itself: \u201cWell, they suck and we\u2019ll win, and God will bless us and we\u2019ll stand and be proud of ourselves at the end of the day, and they won\u2019t be able to sleep at night because they don\u2019t know what they believe. And they\u2019re so weak, we\u2019ll fix it.\u201d<\/p>\n President Donald Trump \u2014 who has served himself as host of \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d twice prior to his time in office \u2014 has complained about the show for years. Questions about whether his administration would try to take action against the late-night show at some point have started to swirl after it recently targeted late-night host<\/a> Jimmy Kimmel.<\/p>\n That speculation did little to deter \u201cSNL\u201d from having James Austin Johnson reprise his role as Trump in the Season 51 cold open in a sketch that also featured Weekend Update host Colin Jost as Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m just here keeping my eye on \u2018SNL,\u2019 making sure they don\u2019t do anything too mean about me, and they better be careful because I know late-night TV like the back of my hand,\u201d Johnson as Trump said, holding up a discolored hand<\/a>.<\/p>\n He added at the end, \u201cdaddy\u2019s watching.\u201d<\/p>\n Next week on \u201cSNL,\u201d presumably: Amy Poehler and musical guest Role Model.
