Bill O\u2019Reilly called soon-t0-be Super Bowl halftime artist Bad Bunny several cheeky nicknames \u2013 \u201cMalevolent Rabbit,\u201d \u201cB.B.\u201d and \u201cthe Bunny Guy\u201d \u2013 but the 76-year-old career conservative talking head has no problem with the NFL\u2019s selection, plans to give him a chance \u2026 and promised to step in if ICE actually interferes.<\/p>\n
The Puerto Rican singer and rapper was announced Tuesday as the main performer for Super Bowl 26, despite never recording any songs (fully) in English and his ongoing refusal to tour in the United States, saying he fears immigration officials would target his audience.<\/p>\n

Not exactly The Four Tops, but I\u2019m an old guy and you can make fun of me,\u201d O\u2019Reilly said. \u201cGo ahead. OK, so that\u2019s Bad Bunny. Doesn\u2019t sing songs in English. Never had an English song. But he does speak English.\u201d<\/p>\n O\u2019Reilly made note of the NFL\u2019s current era of halftime artists \u2013 Kendrick Lamar, Usher, Rihanna, Eminem, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg \u2013 comes courtesy of Roc Nation founder Jay-Z, who books the league\u2019s entertainment. The Bad Bunny selection sparked backlash for his lack of English lyrics and stance on immigration politics \u2013\u00a0but O\u2019Reilly didn\u2019t flinch at any of that.<\/p>\n \u201cIs this uh, \u2018Good for America?,\u201d O\u2019Reilly mused, chuckling. \u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s bad for America. I mean, most people watching aren\u2019t going to be that favorable to the Bunny Guy, but I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s a deficit,\u201d playing a clip of the artist [real name: Benito Antonio Mart\u00ednez Ocasio] explaining his concerns about ICE posting up outside his concert venues.<\/p>\n When asked this week whether ICE really planned to target the show at the home of the San Francisco 49ers, DHS secretary Kristi Noem said agents will be \u201call over that place.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo, the Bunny guy is is afraid to come here,\u201d O\u2019Reilly said. \u201cOK, at least he\u2019s honest, right? I like the Bunny being honest. \u2026 So, I could reassure you BB \u2013 a little nickname I\u2019m giving him \u2013 you can tour in the United States. ICE is not going to bother you. And if they bother you, I\u2019ll help you. I\u2019ll actually uh go wherever you are. You call me \u2026 and I\u2019ll actually go where you are until ICE knock it off.\u201d<\/p>\n As for the performance itself, O\u2019Reilly says \u201cThe Bunny Guy\u201d has a short leash to keep him entertained.<\/p>\n \u201cI give everybody a chance,\u201d O\u2019Reilly said. \u201cI\u2019m going to give Bad Bunny a chance. Bad Bunny\u2019s got like three-and-a-half minutes with me. If he arrests my attention, I\u2019ll watch the rest. If he doesn\u2019t, I\u2019m gone.\u201d<\/p>\n But he doubled down on his offer for whatever support he can give: \u201cYou come to the USA.
