In the footage, William admits that 2024 has been “the hardest year I’ve ever had.”<\/p>\n
He adds, “Life is said to test us, and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are.”<\/p>\n
Both William’s father King Charles and his wife, Princess Kate, received cancer diagnoses last year. While Charles remains under medical care, Kate completed a preventative chemotherapy regimen in September.<\/p>\n
Discussing his family’s health challenges with striking candor, William recognizes, “We’ve been very lucky, we hadn’t had many illnesses in the family for a very long time. My grandparents lived until they were in the high 90s. So, they were the vision of fitness, and stoicism, and resilience if you like. So we’ve been very lucky as a family.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He then references both King Charles’ cancer diagnosis and his wife Kate’s diagnosis. “But I think, when you suddenly realize that the rug, if you will, the metaphorical rug can be pulled from under your feet quite quickly at any point. You maybe think to yourself ‘It won’t happen to us, we’ll be okay,'” he explains.<\/p>\n
“Because I think everyone has a positive outlook, you’ve got to be positive. But when it does happen to you, then it takes you into some pretty not great places.”<\/p>\n
The Apple TV+ series was filmed in February this year, just weeks following Kate’s announcement that she had beaten cancer, which doctors discovered at the start of 2024.<\/p>\n
The fourth installment of The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy, called Living the Royal Life in the UK, debuted on Friday, October 3, on Apple TV+.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
