That\u2019s what Carter Walton, played by <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/people\/lawrence-saint-victor\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Lawrence Saint-Victor;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Lawrence Saint-Victor<\/a>, found out on <em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/show\/the-bold-and-the-beautiful\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:The Bold and the Beautiful;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">The Bold and the Beautiful<\/a><\/em> last week when he went from wanting to plan his wedding to Hope (<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/people\/annika-noelle\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Annika Noelle;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Annika Noelle<\/a>) to setting her free from their relationship.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The day started out well with the two celebrating Hope\u2019s fashion line, Hope For The Future, being reinstated at Forrester Creations. The jubilation over the revived division prompted Carter to tell Hope that he wanted to plan their wedding.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Alas, viewers saw Carter come to a fast but firm realization that Hope\u2019s heart was with her ex-husband, Liam (<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/people\/scott-clifton\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Scott Clifton;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Scott Clifton<\/a>), and their daughter, Beth (Jordyn Gracie). For his heartbreaking performance as a man who has inexpiably lost out in love again, TV Insider is bestowing Performer of the Week honors on Saint-Victor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Hope became distracted from her wedding plans to Carter by taking a text from Liam that included a photo of him and Beth at their Daddy\/Daughter dance. Carter couldn\u2019t help but notice the emotional shift that the woman he loves was able to make so quickly. Saint-Victor performed the word \u201ctonight\u201d in a way that indicated Carter knew that this wasn\u2019t just for one evening. It was going to be forever.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Hoping against hope that the relationship still might be salvaged, Carter gave a nervous chuckle when he pointed out to Hope that she wasn\u2019t obligated to be at a \u201cDaddy\/Daughter\u201d dance given its nature. However, he couldn\u2019t deny where Hope stood. He knew it before she did, in fact.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cGo, be with your family,\u201d Carter told Hope after she shared that she\u2019d love to be there with Beth on her special night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Again, Saint-Victor played that Carter wasn\u2019t just letting Hope go for the night \u2013 he was sending her away forever.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Hope wasn\u2019t quite there yet, realizing that this would be a split for good. She offered to stay in touch with him as the evening progressed. \u201cStay as long as it feels right,\u201d Carter said with nothing but love in his voice. Slowly, Hope started to come to the conclusion that something was amiss and Carter was talking about an issue that was more substantial than them just being apart for a dance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cI know we both had \u2018hope for our future,\u2019\u201d Carter wistfully said as he noted the play on words between his personal desire and the name of Hope\u2019s company. This wasn\u2019t the first time that the phrase \u201chope for the future\u201d was employed in dialogue that had nothing directly to do with Hope\u2019s fashion line. We\u2019ve been <em>waiting<\/em> for someone on the show who uttered those words to be aware of the pun, and Saint-Victor chose to have Carter be aware of the ironic wording at a very emotional time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">He then put it all on the table. \u201cThis is really difficult,\u201d he said. Carter struggled a bit but then he found the words that would set Hope free.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cGive your daughter what she wants,\u201d Carter said. \u201cGive her her parents back. That\u2019s what\u2019s in your heart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Then, Carter took the engagement ring off Hope\u2019s finger. The two cried and kissed, realizing that while they still loved each other this was for the greater good.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cGoodbye,\u201d Carter said. While some actors can\u2019t muster up tears, Saint-Victor did in these scenes, reminding viewers that real men can \u2014 and do \u2014 cry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Emotionally drained, Carter went to Il Giardino to hear Daphne Rose (<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/people\/murielle-hilaire\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Murielle Hilaire;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Murielle Hilaire<\/a>) perform. Later, she joined him at his table and he updated her on his status as a single man. Despite calling himself a \u201closer at love,\u201d Carter was able to muster a bit of a smile when Daphne took his hand. (Perhaps there\u2019s hope for their\u2026well, you know the rest.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Time will tell if and when Carter manages to capture someone\u2019s heart. However, there\u2019s no question that Saint-Victor has the ability to touch our hearts with his vulnerable performances.
